Wiosna passed on this particular submission and deferred the judgment to me.
TC_Halogen - 7/10
- offset is good
- 21.430/etc: remove this jump; save your accenting for the more noticeable instruments so that your structure doesn’t immediately convolute itself (it’s Terminal 11, we both know how this will end)
- 21.825: i’d move this up a 64th, but it’s not the most noticeable thing ever
- 27.749: this is a really rough pattern
- 35.998: again, another really rough pattern. Something to consider is the abrasion of the sound you’re accenting against the pattern that you’re using -- with the rhythm you’re utilizing, you’re not really accenting something that’s got a huge presence, it’s a “wooshing” sound of sorts.
- 44.423: I appreciate the attention to detail here with the lower synth, but there is an overwhelming amount of stress on the right hand that starts before the burst even kicks off here; you could ease the stress by either changing the pattern before the burst, or moving one of the two 16th minijacks onto a different hand
- 58.595: that mini-trill in the middle there is a bit tight, and the burst tension culminates in a minijack into a triple -- ease up a little bit
- 1.01.448: another situation, similar, but a bit more dire since it leads to split-handed jumpjacks, which are already going to be difficult in execution given that they come after the burst
- 1:27.599: yikes, that’s nasty
- I honestly don’t feel like I really need to point out too much here, because it’s a lot of the same deal
- structurally, this file is quite solid and makes a lot of sense; it’s explicit, but honestly, to a fault at times.
- i’d work on reducing the number of forced one-hand transitioning/tightness whenever possible by distributing your patterns a bit better
