OT18 Bounty Batch - Courtroom

Released
DGD song in the Mothership album, Rise Records label
Seems to fit the high 30s bounty. Tests slow anchors, sparse 32nds rolls, gluts, hands, flams, and general stamina/consistency for that level given the almost 3:30 length.

**1:06.130 - ~1:38.358 - this section seems to have a consistency issue
-1:08.016 - might want a single for snare
-1:10.758 - vocal doesn’t really land here, and you haven’t been following kick drums in this section (.244) so probably ghost
-1:10.930, 1:11.273 - no 64th grace?
-1:16.244 - doesn’t make much sense to be a jump in this phrase, compare 1:15.044
-1:24.644 - not jump, only vocal lands here, no drum
-1:28.758, .930 / 1:34.244, .416 - (subjective) you can probably add these dead guitar notes as a transition to this more melodic guitar section
-1:38.358 - (subjective) seems like a lot of emphasis just for a snare hit. Works as is as a transition or reduce for consistency

2:33.730, 2:42.987, 2:44.701 - only guitar here, which you seem to be ignoring
2:49.787 - unexpectedly spicy….. uhh… okay

Ending colour notes don’t really seem to go to anything. I’d just have one FFR note if you reeeeeeeeally want one. Ending on a quad is always a power move though.

Chart is broadly decent, but really needs that one section cleaned up. Pushing to FR for clean up there.

1:08.016: Mayyybe? This entire section is so tricky because it sounds like all instruments want to be dominant and being rigid on a layering scheme only led me to either an abundance of 16ths usage that broke the fun rhythm, or something too easy. Please check from 1:07.844 to 1:08.873 again. I added the col 1 kicks to match 1:13.844 and 1:24.816; adding the snare you mention without those felt too off.

1:10.758: Yeah same kind of issue. I removed it, despite adding those mentioned in the first notes, because this being the exception with the more fun "oh-oh" vocals seems appropriate. It does make 1:10.244 and 1:10.758 inconsistent with the rest of the section, but more understandably so now I believe.

1:10.930, 1:11.273: Yep missing, added.

1:16.244: Changed to single, and adjusted PR around 1:15.044 to make the snare match 1:16.244 and not conflict with the col 1 stuff.

1:24.644: Fixed.

1:28.758, .930 / 1:34.244, .416: Agreed, adding them as colored notes for the muted feel.

1:38.358: Hmmm, keeping as is; the guitar is so loud in addition to the rest, even if this note is a bit less impactful than the previous hands.

2:33.730 & 2:44.701: Goes to the vocal that has distinct notes on the "ni-ing". Personal preference, although I'd be ok removing it if really needed.

2:42.987: There's a kick there.

2:49.787: Lmao I didn't have this initially, then Pizza asked for changes and I put this spicy patterning, to which he replied: "I thought they were well patterned and added spice/emphasis without being obnoxious. That's exactly the type of shit I'd be inclined to put in there lol, I liked it but I can indeed see them being spiky". So yeah, keeping it for funsies.

Ending: Yeaaaah... Removed them. I dont like the idea of just one random FFR note on that ending. I feel like without anything after that quad on ffr we quickly lose that nice fade out, but it's probably best to end it on the quad regardless.

Thanks for the notes! :) Please re-check the problematic part as a whole and lemme know if it's more adequate now.

I would break the FR'd section into single phrases and keep the approach consistent within each phrase. You basically already do this except for the first section.

ie.
1:06.127 - 1:11.613 - vocal jumps, kicks/snares as singles. I think the vocal is strong enough throughout the section to justify it.

In this current version of the chart all that needs to change is
-jumps on every vocal note currently here (except 1:09.041 / 1:11.441)
-add singles to 1:10.241, 1:10.755

If that's too much, maybe drop the drum singles

Attempt at fixing layering consistency

Added the singles you mention, but then it made it Very odd if the singles in the start of this section were omitted. So I shuffled things around a few times (at the problematic start of the section) and gave it a couple of playtests, and this is what felt the most satisfying while keeping drums consistency correct. I think the trick was to sacrifice a tiny bit of vocals PR to allow for (1:08.355) 1(34)1(124) instead of 1(23)1(124) which felt weird on the left hand being suddenly so busy.

I guess this works well enough. Moved to accept

Assume last fixes are made..? Speeding this off to DC engine lmk if more fixes are applied otherwise.
