Beautiful Creatures (WirryWoo) [8/10]
>Permission good (Provided tweet)
>Folder contents good
>Metadata incomplete - change artist name to ILLENIUM feat. MAX - confirmed on multiple sources
>Sync good
Playtest Impression, 1.0x Rate - Good
57.777 - might like a single here
I don’t like this song, but that’s just a preference thing. The chart is solid. Fix artist attribution and this is good to go. Nicely done!~

Beautiful Creatures (WirryWoo) [6/10]
- Metadata, sync are good
- Permission is questionable. Can't verify if DMCA free means also okay to use in video games
0:05.479 - Ghost jump
0:06.761 - Should be a [34]
0:12.401 - Werid to see this as [13] again since it doesn't replicate the kick from the previous 8th. Would suggest changing to [34]
0:19.836 - Why this one specifically the same as the other two jumps? Prior to this you step the first to jumps the same and the last one differently.
0:21.886 - ^
0:24.706 - Missing jump?
0:33.423-0:34.192, 0:36.243, etc - See logic behind 0:19.836
0:37.268 - Why note here? You ignored it on 0:29.065
0:43.037 - Missing note?
0:51.753 - This doesn't sound like it warrants a minijack
1:54.178 - Should differniate from the [14] before.
The jump structure in the file feels pretty incosistent. Many of the kick jumps cycle between 3 jumps on the same column and 2 jumps on the same column. It would've been fine if these were switched on different segments but it's pretty weird they happen randomly within the same segment of the song.
On 0:41.627-0:55.983 you do different jumps for every kick but there are two instances where two jumps are repeated on the same column.
The drop PR is also a bit odd. Take for example 1:32.889-1:34.694, all the single notes are on 4. Assuming you're following the slap sound, the middle note should be different from those. If you're not following that, then what is going on there? Is it for flow purposes?
Overall, the file plays pretty odd to me and I think it needs some more polish before it gets accepted.

"Permission is questionable. Can't verify if DMCA free means also okay to use in video games" - Asked gold stinger in Discord DMs on April 29, 2023 before sending the file. His response was "We've went off less before, so sure." I'll let the team decide to move forward or not.
0:05.479 - This was intended to map the high-pitched guitar in the background.
0:06.761 - Because of 5.479, I don't want to have two (34) jumps as the background guitar at 6.761 has a lower pitch.

0:43.037 - Don't hear anything there.
0:51.753 - Recommendations here? I don't want to step a 4-long jack in an easy file lol.

* - A lot of the jump placements in the file were intended to play a two-fold purpose (to align with the PR of the main vocals as much as possible, and to emphasize the drums using jumps while layering them with a common single note). For example, at 8.812, I stepped it as (34)(34)(14) with 4 representing the consistency of the drums across the three areas, 1 being the start of the vocals, and 3 to emphasize the drums so that jumps are perceived as jumps from a playing standpoint. That said, there are some inconsistencies with some of my jumps, which I went ahead and fixed.
Thanks for the reviews.

Coming in as third judge due to divisive ratings (2+ points of difference on opposite sides of the accept/reject line).
I definitely agree with Deam that the jump patterning is odd and occasionally jarring. I think my preferred approach personally would be to keep them generally all on the same columns (i.e. 3-note jumpjacks) where each sequence is placed on the appropriate columns to PR the surrounding sounds around them. This would make the kick motif a bit easier to parse as a player--having two of the same jump for kicks but then breaking it up for the third kick (which is identical but for having another noise on top of it) sets up an expectation of repetition and then immediately breaks it, which feels a little weird, particularly given that this it's not always done that way. It's like two orders of subverted expectations.
This file has me a bit conflicted honestly, but because as a player I tend to hone in a bit more on the vocals (which are PR'd well), I feel this issue is minor enough to still be acceptable. However, as I've said, I do think it's possible to capture both the repeating kicks and the vocal PR at the same time, and I feel that doing so would markedly improve the clarity of the file.

Fixes submitted after judge notes but no further response so, this is going in.
We'll see if I regret that or not. If you want to still submit fixes before release, get in-touch with me.
