Cub Cub Lion Heart
------------------
- Permission, sync, metadata good.
NOTE: Many of my notes on the first half apply in equal measure to the corresponding sections in the second half.
~~
- Lots of misrhythms in the section at 4.723. Notes are missing at 4.980, 5.494, and 5.666; 6.009 sounds ghosty to me but it might just be like the 5.494 sound but quieter, so I'll leave that up to you.
- 11.923: Suggest different column for PR.
- 20.837: Longer column 2 anchor than you might want; it's not difficulty-relevant really, but a 4-note anchor starting at 21.180 to highlight the new instrument would be nice accenting and that would necessitate it being separated from this one.
- 22.723: Technically a 32nd triplet.
- 25.117: Ghost note--if this is for vocals it's both a misrhythm and also a weird choice because this echo goes on for quite a while longer without any further acknowledgement.
- 36.266-37.637: I understand wanting to reduce the jump layering once the unbroken 16ths come in to give the new percussion in the next section more power, but the current approach feels pretty inconsistent. My suggestion would be as follows:
--> Add jump at 36.266 (strong melody note, followed as jumps previously)
--> Replace jump at 37.295 with two jumps, one at 37.209 and the other at 37.466. Previously those would have been the latter note of jump gallops, and they are the more stressed note of the two, so following them makes sense and feels more consistent with the previous section.
- 43.980: Jump?
- 45.866: This roll is a little boring and doesn't make a whole of technical sense, I feel a dense jumpstream would be a more fitting climax to this section.
- 52.552: Given 52.895 being a jumptrill highlighting the melody, this being a single feels odd--it's the single most powerful melody note in the section. (77.232 too, in comparison to 76.717, etc.)
* 63.863: This is a lot harder than 52.895.
- 70.118: Ghost note. (This is technically the third note of a straight 12th rhythm starting at 69.861, which you are not following, and this is quite offsync.)
* 71.925, 73.296: Accenting feels misplaced; I'm assuming for both of these you're trying to accent the kinda buzzy held note, but the bursts here are not on those, they are on the aftermath of the pitch bend at the end. You're kinda charting the negative space here. Suggest moving these to start at 71.746 and 73.117 respectively. This also gives the burst at 73.460 more space.
- 73.460: 24ths, not 32nds.
- 79.632: I'm having a hard time understanding your layering scheme/why things went to all hands here; it looks like you're going for hands on the vocals (based on 78.946 only being a jump) in which case this should also only be a jump.
* 79.974: More misplaced accenting on the white bursts. For the first one, you're again charting the negative space, but the other three are properly placed. Move first burst to 79.974.
- 84.432: Watch the entry to this burst on left hand.
- 87.517: I like these minijacks a lot, but would strongly suggest making them 2233 instead to ease the transition into them (and also rearranging the exit accordingly). Right hand is pretty heavy before this.
- 88.460: Single, not jump.
** 90.346, 189.097: Nope. Rolls into 32nd OHTs are not allowed. Please remove.
- 93.689-95.232, 99.177-100.720: Your 16th use is inconsistent in this section, and I don't feel the minijacks make a whole lot of sense either unfortunately.
- 102.777: Why longer burst? The next one makes more sense.
** 104.148-108.605: Please use hands instead of quads. In addition to being a difficulty spike (particularly with the minijacks), it is also inconsistent with how the same instrument was followed in the previous section.
- 135.005: See 45.866 note; same applies here, but more emphatically since there are actual 32nds starting at 136.034 which the current structure does not acknowledge.
- 149.748: Not minijack.
** 170.485-171.172: 32nd OHTs are really really hard here.
- 192.602: This slowdown is a lot more than the sound deserves.
- This review is quite long and I hope it doesn't come off as too harsh--there are a lot of good ideas here, but the file also needs quite a lot of polish to let them shine. There are some spikes involving minijacks and/or 32nd OHTs which very much need to be resolved, as well as a couple sections where the chart follows certain instruments very inconsistently. Please DM me if you'd like any clarification or any suggestions for any of my notes, or if I misunderstood something. It will need a fair bit of work, but I can absolutely see you getting this file to an acceptable state. [5.5/10]

Playtest Impression, 1.0x Rate - Super fun, but probably need to nitpick some transitions
48.266 - 59.237 / 2:30.434 - 2:38.320 - Double check layering here, and whether you want it to follow the melody - eg. whether 52.552 / .723 are jumps.
1:09.517 / etc. - I think you knew we’d complain about these rolls haha. It’s definitely the left hand stress that makes these so awkward. The “intuitive manip” strategy would be to play these as 3[12]3[12]2[34]2[34] which is quite tricky to pull off even with the extra 32nd of space you give here. I think you can still get the effect you’re going for by making the second half of the rolls 432s instead of 234s.
1:45.863 - there are more 16ths you can put in here before that sound fades out
3:00.259 - 3:10.202 - Unsure on what is going on here in terms of layering and what some of these 16ths (before the drum fill) are following. It’s also a slightly extreme difficulty spike as is, so it’ll be good to address this section.
The chart plays nicely in general, barring some wonky things like those rolls. But this needs a fair bit of additional cleanup. There are also some other weird layering decisions and what appear to be errors following 16ths that I haven’t listed.
Pretty close, and definitely one that I’d love to see resubmitted at some point!
