YEAR OF THE BAD DRAGON (Xtreme2252) [4.5/10]

PERMS OK
SYNC NOT OK

Incorrect metadata, unused files. Sync off by about 20ms throughout.

17.628: Unnecessarily harsh minijack.

18.065 & 18.565 & many more: While these make sense when you listen at 50% speed, at normal speed they're extremely subtle and don't contrast well with the more prominent 32nds like 18.940 and 19.065 for example. Because of that, it feels like either some are ghost notes or the others are underlayered. This concern applies to a good portion of those 32nds.

21.128 & 21.378: Same issue as the 32nds, except on 16ths. These don't contrast well with 20.378 for example.

25.503: Quite rough, especially considering the following burst has a (14) and is still easier than this one.

41.753: Not 32nds here.

Pretty consistent chart overall. Unfortunately, the layering is a major issue here and makes most of the chart really unintuitive. The bursts in general are a bit rough and lack pattern (and quantization) variety here and there. The PA is quite constrained due to the layering decisions, but it's alright in some places where vocals are the main focus. The work needed to make this work implies a significant amount of changes to make the 32nds more coherent.

YEAR OF THE BAD DRAGON (Xtreme2252) [3.5/10]

- Perms are good

- Metadata improperly set up, the chart specified to a .ogg while the folder only has .mp3

- Sync is off, offset should be at -0.025

- Folder data contains junk files (.old, .sfk) that should be removed once the file is submitted

Start-0:18.025 - PR placements could be improved imo.

0:18.025-0:34.025 - Layering here feels very unstructured. Many notes stepped in here are arguably very ghosted (e.g. the triplets happening every beat - they're extremely subtle kicks that get drown out from the large gabber kicks, making them close to impossible to notice on 1.0x) and hinder the detail of sounds that should really stand out in the sections. The bursts are also not very consistent. You seem to understep them with 3 note bursts, but you have a few at the beginning that are wholly stepped with 4-5 notes and with one rigid minijacky pattern.

0:42.025-0:48.525 - No hands for the gabber kicks? You did them in the intro

0:43.025-0:43.275 - No same column 8ths? (e.g. [1][4][1])

0:50.025-1:05.025 - Mild inconsistency with the jumps, are you charting those to the vocals? If so, some jumps are ghosted and some are left as single notes.

1:30.025-2:00.025 - Nearly the same issues as the first drop. Layering is largely messy to understand and lots of small details in the song could be cleaned to give attention to more noticable sounds like the gabber kicks.

The layering for the drops really don't work here. They feel both underrepresented and overlayered at the same time. By underrepresented, I feel like the gabber kicks could've been continuely stepped as jumps instead of light JS. And by overlayered, many of the small details I pointed out in my notes conflict with sounds that matter more to give attention to. I recommend giving a look at those sections and clean / give them a new set of order that could flow better with the song.

Given that your charting is done with StepMania 5, I highly recommend to cycle between 0.5x and 1.0x rates and focus on how attentive the sounds are on 1.0x rate.

Use also CTRL + UpArrow to extend the size of your editor field. This helps TREMENDOUSLY to fix condensed sections / unintentional anchors and overall get better detail of what you're charting.
