NOTE TO JUDGE:
For 66.46-71.05s,75.78-80.37s: This section's sounds are layered in a rather complicated way. The main elements are: 1) a high-pitched synth (scratchy?) sound, 2) electric guitar, 3) a fast-paced shake-sounding percussion, and 4) rhythmic drums. All elements kinda do their own thing, and it's impossible to account for every or even most of them. Rhythms for elements 1-3 also don't coincide too well, so when one element does 16ths and then calms down to not just 16ths, then another element might be covering the base with 16ths. It's a bit of a muddle all in all. So I basically just did 16ths for whatever sound exist at any one point, whether it's the guitar or the high-pitched synth etc. And to that the drums would add to the layering. Just explaining this in case you wonder what "exactly" do the 16ths follow. The answer: it's sorta nebulous, but for the benefit of stepping in 4k methinks.

MEGAERA (bmah) [8.5/10]
>Permission check fine (Blanket)

>Metadata fine; Folder contains .dwi file, remove plz
73.886/repeats - These will probably convert to either colour hands or "1-framers," so you might consider dropping to 48ths or 32nds to help force the motion you're going for.
80.439-84.663 - I think a clearer stucture to the trills would help this section. I like the "alternating" trills (eg the 23232/32323 this section starts as). Maybe something as simple as alternating OHTs between each of the 4 4-beat phrases would be effective and keep the tension up. Or have the first two OHTs and use 23 and 14 trills for the others to show the somewhat decreas(ed/ing) tension.
AND/OR
83.206 - was expecting [24]343[24] or similar here given structure from 81.604-82.332. As is feels out of place.
101.046/101.337 - having both these jacks on the left hand might be a bit much. Easy fix is to change 101.410 to [134]
120.415 - could argue for a note here-ish, or not
This file overall is super well structured/thought out. My notes are really just suggestions, though I do recommend at least tweaking the trill section I mentioned above. I like this one a lot. Excellent job! Can't wait to see what other people think of it.
*Note that starting with the May/June 2021 batch, two judges will review each file. Ratings are not final until both judges have posted their notes and the file status is updated.*

bmah - MEGAERA [8/10]
Syncing [*/3]: (3/3) No issues with syncing.
Playability [*/3]: (2/3)
- Patterns are difficult as hell for me but for high D7 and D8 players (which seems to be the intended audience this file is catering to), they're surely accessible. There are a ton of tricky transitions which in my opinion, disrupts flow of the chart, but not enough to make this file impossible to play.
Technicality [*/3]: (2.5/3)
- 53.206: ghost note
- 63.837: To respect PR, maybe change this from [1] to [4]?
- 112.988: I remember chatting with you about this before. I think it pays to try and be consistent here with 114.080. Maybe [34] here despite have a 3-length 4 jack?
Surprisingly, when looking at this file technically, I was able to understand the strategy of your choice in most steps. Technically a correct file. Great work with acknowledging the different rhythmic components!
Recommendations [*/1]: (0.5/1)
- Although technically correct, there are many percussive noises that (in my opinion) shouldn't be stepped due to lack of audio representation in the chaotic nature of the file. I personally think that toning the layering down to isolate the most prominent noises would make the file effectively more rewarding for the player's playing experience.
- Additionally, 9.371 - 11.701, 47.818 - 48.983, and 89.760 - 96.750 can use a BPM compression by 2x to better distinguish harder parts from the slower parts.
Rating [*/10]: 8/10
- A very technical file that would challenge and engage the higher division players. Great work overall!

- hmm...you know what, I'm ok with folks hitting these really fast bursts as hands. Would be easier to cheat on an already unforgiving chart.

- great point, fixed
