Simfile Database

Hi fellow FFRers,

I remeber about 3 years ago where I can go into the simfile database that FFR once had and play that kappa mikey song a bunch of times. Now I know that there are already threads about this. But maybe a Legal version of this database can be made. I just started getting into stepmania again. So This would be wonderful to start again. Maybe all the files that didn't get in-game but needed honorable mentions can go here. Any Ideas/Advice please post here.

I would love to see it return to be honest, but I don't see it being done.

If you're looking for a stepmania file, use the Stepmania Song Search to see which pack you can find it in. The Simfile Database isn't coming back.

there's actually a super secret simfile db left on the site but only those who have passed the Seven Trials are granted access to it.

Thanks everybody for the replies and thanks dossar for telling me about the song search. Idk it was just an idea, but I guess it just isn't coming back.

The problem with even a sim database that ONLY uses artists we have permission from is that most artists granted permission under the fact that others could not download their songs from the site for free. Allowing a simfile database (even of artists that gave permission) totally encourages free downloading of files (and with them, songs), which completely ruins that whole agreement and would probably lose us a bunch of permissions.

On a not-so-serious note, the only real legal way to have a simfile database would be to charge for the service and end up paying royalties, etc.
