I don't know if photography is ok here, but what the hell...
Photos taken from my phone. Mainly because a fancy camera is out of the question at the moment, mainly because I don't need one. Most of the pictures are at night because that's when I'm usually out for a walk (or walking home). Links for anti-page stretching http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q...tos/IMG002.jpg http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q...tos/IMG018.jpg http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q...tos/IMG030.jpg http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q...tos/IMG031.jpg Kinda the same thing over and over, but not like there's much out here for variation. Critiques and tips (other than "buy better stuff") are welcome. |

Theres something about that second one that looks really cool. The other ones (except the last) look a little smudgy, but other than that they are pretty good.
What kinda of phone did you take these with?

LG T-mobile Mytouch. Well, that's what it says on the phone.

Second one has nice atmosphere, but a little blurry for me.
My favorite is the last one. Great colors, it's pretty. |

Hmm. For me, being a photography n3rD I notice one thing off the bat: the ISO (light sensor sensativity) is really high, meaning that there will be really high noise levels in low light, and even in pretty decent lighting/street lights, but I also notice that it hinders the focus and tricks the camera into focusing right in front of the image instead of at the subject (the light is too intense for the sensor and it's metering system gets confused by this and can't correctly judge what's in front of it).
That last image shows the potential of your phone camera, because it's nice and clear with very little noise. I think if you are to use your cell phone camera, either find a flat surface to hold it on top of at night (otherwise you'll see a lot of blur and artifacts or really bad noise) or shoot in daylight. Getting a "better" camera is something you would do when your equipment is stopping you from expressing your creativity. If you love low-light dramatic photos, then in this case the camera is limiting you a lot. If you like shooting random pretty pictures of flowers or trees on sunny days, you should be okay for awhile :P obviously nothing like aperture control (low depth of field, blurry backgrounds) or long exposure shots (unless your camera DOES have it. But if it does, I predict you'll see a lot of randomly coloured pixels in the dark spots. Lots of noise, ugly stuff unless you edit it all out). Sorry if that's just me bantering and whatnot but maybe you've learned something???!!! Keep it up. No matter what hardware you use, it's the person using it that really makes the magic happen.

Too lazy to resize them (Iphone 4S). If I used original image, it would expand this thread haha

I have more photos to share. Once again, links to avoid page-stretching

It is nice that the daytime pictures look good and I have a way to take good nighttime photos, even if it's a tad cumbersome. |
