At any military facility I've ever been in, guards don't leave their designated patrols for any reason. So I'm guessing the single guards on floors A through H never leave their floors unless given direct orders not to by the Commander. But some guards are supposed to remain vigilant and be on call to act as reinforcements when things get hot. They probably sit in the guard quarters when they're not on patrol.

But now that alert has sounded, there should be hordes of guards throughout the halls right now. I wonder where they all are?

There's probably a Commander's Terminal somewhere in the facility where guards can be ordered off their floors, but Alert Mode alone probably won't do it, due to the fact that they expect reinforcements.

Chardish is like an abusive parent with his children, the TWG players. You just wait till we're full grown and can verbally abuse you just as hard. Just you wait...

How did I know we were going to set off Alert Mode so soon? How?

Im voting No Lynch, obviously, because there's absolutely nobody in FOXHOUND that has betrayed me yet and I haven't had the chance to use a terminal.

Also guys, I think its important to make a note of this:

Guards will automatically attempt to kill every non-guard in the room. This means you can kill guards by ganging up on them. (and it is always to your advantage to attempt to kill all guards.)
Meaning, even though we have no idea who set off the alarm, someone (if they are not of the proper class) is going to be dying. What is there to do to prevent this? Well, if there's the offchance that two of us are in the same room, we could eliminate him, but there's no way to know that, either. Not unless we were to tell each other the rooms we were in.

Ive got a bad feeling about Alert Mode...

            No.

            Guard = priority 2
            Hackers, sneakers = priority 2

            Both attack each other
            Neither dies

            Hacker/sneaker runs

            It's fine.

Okay, so anyone who requested to use a terminal, their request has just been rejected I take it. Except sneakers and patriots of course.

Listen, each turn there is a 88.2 percent chance that a guard will run into one of the players in the game. This means that alert mode will happen very often until the guards are dealt with. Not only this but this is the absolute lowest we can make this statistic, unless we want to start exploring rooms in pairs, and that's just plain not safe.

When a guard is killed on a floor, do not reveal which floor, we do not want everyone rushing to that floor to not set off alert mode, or the wolves up their chances. The person who was in a room with the guard, I hope you killed him if you were a warrior. These guards will be a big problem. If you kill one, don't say so unless everyone agrees that there will still never be more than 2 people on that floor at once. It's not worth the risk. We are working with statistics here.

Now, this is crucial, there has been discussion of warriors staying in a room so that they can kill the guardian when it comes next turn. Yes this would be helpful in quickly removing all the guards. But DO NOT stay put. I don't care if you can take the guard out, incase you are forgetting, the patriots know where a person is at the end of each turn. If you stay put to kill the guard, and they decide to follow up to rooms where people were last turn, because a bunch of you want to stay behind and kill the guard BAM you're dead. Staying still is not an option with the new rules. Patriots can take you out without your knowing. Baisically, they now have no reason NOT to attack you. The situation has completely switched. We are now on the defence. Keep moving agents. It's the only option for now.

Okay, I've been thinking (and panicking).
57.8 percent chance that the Patriots encounter an Agent each night, with no reprocussions to killing them no matter what the conditions. 88.3% chance that the Agents can do nothing constructive for the night because of alert mode. And by the time we get a break and are not in Alert mode, amost of the terminals we land on are likely to be hacked and falsified.

There's really only one viable option if we are going to win against these odds. We need to revert to old fasioned twg tactics. We need to lynch the wolves to lower their chances of picking us off. We must identify and remove them from the game, even if not entirely certain. I for one am voting Yellow. If anyone seems like they are going to be trying something, it's the guy who's made 2 posts that baisically said "Cool plan, it seems to work on paper." and "I'll be on this floor." If this is how he's going to chip into the team I'd rather put him on the stand and see what team he's chipping in to.

I hope everyone else follows my example and starts analysing people. I know not everyone is good at it, and would rather ignore this oldschool tactic of TWG, but we cannot win by tangling around the maze. Before, the map was an aid to us, now it is an inhibitor, we need to be efficient in identifying true threats, and make sure as little killing as possible happens outside the communications channel. We talk and we lynch here, until we can be more confident, we have no choice but to keep running inside the facility. We will be damn lucky if we can get much of anything out of the terminals.

Indigo, don't be stupid. We should not be voting for anybody now. What you did makes me want to vote for you, but I know that that woulld be a bad thing to do. You called it an oldschool "tactic" of TWG. How about you go count up the number of people lynched, then count how many of them were human. Pretty large portion of them, right? So why would you vote for somebody here in order to "stop the wolves" when it's pretty likely that you'll kill a FOXHOUND agent? It was never a tactic in TWG to vote for somebody everyday, it was a reqiurement, something we HAD to do. Now that we don't have to vote people off and risk killing our buddies, we shouldn't. Unless a hacker uses a seer terminal (or a sneaker this first round) and finds someone to be a wolf, they should not be voted for no matter what.

Don't worry about the 88.3% chance. Alert mode also means that gas terminals can't be used. It's still one of the few ways that reds can do anything and have very very very little chance of being caught. We need to worry less about possible wolves and more about completing the objective at hand. Metal Gear is a much greater threat than the Patriots, so let's not get paranoid and start killing our own mean.

Besides, why yellow? We've seen in the past that inactivity does NOT mean someone is red. And if you're going for inactive people, shouldn't you vote for Olive, who hasn't posted anything? Regardless, you shouldn't be voting for anything or anybody, unless you've found and used a seer terminal. And if that's the case, somebody will need to know the room and go and cross check the seering. We can't have people voted off on a whim.

Wait, didn't chardish make a rules change stating that the reds can use terminals in alert mode? Or am I just going crazy?

I also vote no lynch simply because it's too early.

I vote No Lynch because I really have no proof that anyone could be a Patriot and it is too early, like Orange said.

Clearing Up: It is now Alert Mode. We should get the hell out of the room we are in. Correct?

So, I take it that not too many of you are sneakers. Here is the thing: If a warrior triggers alert mode, it is -1 guard. If a sneaker goes into a room with a guard, it is -1 guard with no alert mode. Why?

Warior sets it off, attacks guard = priority 3. Guard = 2. Dead Guard.
Sneaker can't be seen by guard = Dead Guard.

Plus, those of us that are sneakers can still use the terminals during these fun times. Also, it is NOT worth it for even sneakers to go into rooms where someone has already been. It is much better to keep exploring random rooms until we (hopefully) explore everywhere and find everything.

Also, thanks to these new rules, it appears clear that we are at a disadvantage. Glad we let that happen.

Everyone, make sure to check in (as I assume you would get a PM about being dead already, if that were the case.) So far, Blue, Olive, and Red-Yellow all have not checked in.

Jesus christ Green, 5 people have already asked that same question and it has been answered TWICE already. Daaaaaaaaamn.

                        Gray out, for now.

                            This is Red, reporting in.

I'm concerned about the new rule allowing the patriots to kill us before we enter a room. If we make our movements follow any sort of pattern, then the patriots will have no problems intercepting and eliminating us.

What this basically means is that we can forget our plans to try and systematically explore the base, unless we want to walk straight into a patriot trap. This is going to make mapping out the base much more difficult.

God damn magenta, clearly you didn't read my post. Not only did I mention the patriots being able to use terminals in alert mode rule that you clearly didn't know, but I answered all the questions you asked, and any argument you made has already been discussed an countered in my post. I think it is best that we aim to remove the patriots from the game through discussion and analysis like before, not on the offchance that they screw up, which is not likely to happen. I in no way said to lynch someone every turn. And I gave many more reasons aside from inactivity for why I put in a vote for yellow. Use your head magenta.

Chardish, please clear this up, if I land in a room with a GUARD am I able to kill it without it attacking me back as a sneaker?

                              edit- like it matters
