Re: What kind of prizes would give you incentive to participate?
I'm for it as long as they don't require immense amounts of time and logical thinking to figure out.
If you do a tournament of just FFR, the same people are going win like always, so it'd definitely better to throw in a mix of stuff so more people have a chance to win.
Re: What kind of prizes would give you incentive to participate?
smartdude the escape question I posed is really easy to figure out in like a matter of minutes if you wish to show mathematically how to do it. There are many solutions -- Tass had one solution in like 20 seconds that was perfectly valid.

Well I think what I will do is allow a list of possible prizes for people, where they can either choose things like subs/cash/keyboards/whatever/etc, and the lower your rank is, the smaller the list becomes
Solution found. Ironically by the person with the problem in the first place.
I didnt participate in the last Omni-pwn on the sheer fact that I already have a metal pad for DDR, I didnt really need a second one on the off chance that I would have won. By suppling a list of possible prizes, I'm certain you'd find a much wider range of people joining if there is something they like on said list.
RULES FOR PROPER THREAD MAKING

"am i doing nothing but whining about something i'm getting for free and not supporting myself?" if you answer yes to any of those questions, don't post the thread.
2. if the thread has ANYTHING to do with tokens, skill tokens, sotw, or difficulty of songs... do not post it. under any circumstance. why? because you already violated rule #1, i'm sure.

I like the rubik's cubes. Make sure they're signed too, especially if they're store bought ones. Cubesmith stickers so that they won't start peeling on us?
And I really wanted the Cobalt Flux for the last tournament, too. It's just that the whole thing didn't really fit my schedule. I was pretty busy, and often I had activities to participate in while the events were starting, so I just gave up on the whole thing. So yes, get rid of the time-based challenges.
Re: What kind of prizes would give you incentive to participate?
All my cubes have good stickers. They won't be peeling any time soon. A few cubes have cubesmith stickers, while other cubes are Eastsheen brand (aka very high quality). Some of these cubes I've had for years and the stickers aren't going to come off any time soon. The standard Rubik's brand stickers are really crappy so I avoid those at all costs, lol. The plastic membranes peel off too soon and the colors fade away.

my 5x5 is in awful shape... it's missing about 4 little plastic squares, and 2-3 others are glued back on. stickers are starting to peel on my 4x4 too.
