As far I can tell, its only "unfair" to non-vet top-tier players, and that's good because it's good encouragement for them to stick around and get vet status.

I agree. I think the hardest song of the week should be the vet song.

Vet is meant for all that play or continue to play. Not just for top-tier alone.

Yeah, and there's no drawback for less skilled players regardless of vet status.

If you aren't skilled enough to do the hardest file, it doesn't matter if you are vet or not because you won't play it. Not a huge deal to have to wait 2 weeks for a file you can't even read.
If you are skilled enough to do the hardest file, you are a vet and you can play it, or you are not a vet and that is good encouragement to stick around.

Nobody loses.

Also, vet songs are only a week now instead of a two-week wait for public people to play.

Actually talked to Z about this on AIM not too long ago. Gonna have to agree with him on this. I understand that the "better" players are going to have vet status, but there are far more mid- and high-tier vets than there are god-tier vets. Challenging-FMO would probably be a better range to have for vet songs so that it affects more vets (in the sense of fun factor) rather than have it just be a challenge for them that they have a lot of trouble with (I know it's good to have SOME challenge, but even though I haven't actually played this week's song from what I've read it's pretty rough).

With these changes, I don't think it really matter anymore.
- Veteran req change (more effort-based)
- 3 + 1 to 4 + 1 (# of songs)
- 2 weeks to 1 week (Veteran only terms)

Either the hardest or second hardest one will be a veteran song. basically following what we determine.

No offense but it'd be better if you guys actually randomized which song was the veteran song, it's really stupid vets end up with a free fgo every week. They're boring as **** anyways.

It's not that he can't play them cause that's a BaD aSsUmPtIoN~. Middie just has hyper distinguished simfile tastes and 99.9999% of the files aren't up to his sublime standards thus considered boring/dump.
