      Re: jTWiG LXII (61): Postgame

      hi. ok.
      Danceguy's list is correct.

      Problems:

Late PMs, weird decision-making, overtness, lack of strategy.

Lumph didn't send a PM killing Jrodd on n1 like V suggested. That would've changed the whole game.

Humans undervalued their roles too much. Greens were so overpowered. They couldn't be 'confirmed' but what did that matter? All they needed to do is take over the coalition V created to find out who the greens were and use it to force everyone to vote for who the greens decided. A lot of players thought it was useless to come out as a green, nothing could've been further from the truth. You control the lynch, you control the game.

Factions wouldn't have ever voted so openly like they did when YMIA died. Everyone would've voted with whomever the greens chose. But that didn't happen because greens lacked strategy. There was no strategy to kill vigis.

Instead we had Scissors use greens to make their final kill. A bit ironic given the mechanic of the game.

That said, had everyone been a little more involved paper might have stood a chance. YMIA shouldn't have been killed and I don't understand why he actually did. I think something happened between Jrodd and Gun that jrodd saw as a golden opportunity to finish the game a phase earlier than anticipated. Would that be correct to assume?

YMIA should have known he was alone and politely requested to be guarded, even publicly, by the Rock team, ask greens to lynch a scissors, fake that a vigi was dead already.

But yeah, I was mostly confused by all the discussion surrounding the greens. Greens had the toughest wall to climb, the toughest delegations to have, but the most fun strategy to put into effect.

yea that was correct, gun was pretty fed up with the lack of participation with his team and read me as the last paper

Yeah. You want to know what fucked me the worst? I even asked Lump who he targeted N1 and he told me Jrod which lead to my choices to base on what I thought people were. Tired of this kind of shit. Three games in a row. If you aren't going to play the game or know you are going to have long stints of absence, just don't sign up. Ive already asked that they ban him for at least one game.

Why did noone realize the big flaw this game had?

The greens could win in conjunction with any team.

Yessir. Gun wanted me to vote ymia, and I "reluctantly" did so. I wasn't hellbent on getting ymia lynched Day 2, by any means. I knew that, as long as Viccica remained alive and Rock wouldn't guard ymia, we could seal the deal. Kraut's vote came after I did my best to convince him that no team was down to only 1 remaining.

No idea if anyone wants to read through it, but I would like to dump all of my thought processes throughout the game here. If anyone else wants to do the same, I will gladly read and comment.

I'm not sure I fully agree, though. Could you explain?

                  Re: jTWiG LXII (61): Postgame

Greens just needed to coalesce and ask people to come to them if they wanted their votes during the day phase. There is tremendous value in a group of greens with information and their voting power allows everyone to mask their allegiance publicly during the day phase by voting for the same person they picked.

Greens needed to kill Vigis. Factions had Vigis to trade in for voting power. Certainly everyone wanted to shoot in the dark and see where the shots might land. It didn't matter if the shots hit or not because if the greens were public from the beginning the pool is reduced by three players. Assuming no vigi's had died, only one team need make the mistake of revealing their vigi before the greens chose to kill someone at random as a display of power.

But, essentially, in exchange for their vigis, factions could ask greens to kill someone from the team they need to kill during the day phase, essentially making it easy for greens to win with virtually any team by making the last vigi the greens need dead to win the last person a team needs to kill to win as well.

                    Re: jTWiG LXII (61): Postgame

Understood, for the most part. I just don't see how that's foolproof, or how there's a flaw in the game's balance.

Couldn't a faction lie about which member is the vigilante? An actual vigilante or two would then be lynched at some point, to be sure, but that throws a wrench into the "win together" scheme. The greens might win incidentally this way, or a surviving vigi might win the game on a night kill.

                      Re: jTWiG LXII (61): Postgame

That's the risk but with enough pressure you can make anyone cave. When this game was played in FFYa I lied about how many greens had come out to me to get more claims. Then I lied about how many factions requested lynches in private.

Then I got messages like this:

I really didn't want to get involved with this because I'm skeptical on your motives, but with two requests for a death I'm betting one of them is V trying to get me. So i'll input my own request.

Would the "greens" be so kind as to help me lynch [vote]V[/vote]?

I'm also working with my team on a potential deal I'd like to work out with you.

We'd give you our vigi's name and life in exchange for a few of the following:

                      1. 2 days of Lynch favoritisim
                      2. Information leading to the elimination of a member of our opposing faction. (we would need to guarentee this is accurate by viging said player, or lynching then and getting a confirmed reading)
                      3. Information on who the greens are that came out to you. (So we don't waste nights targeting them)

Terms are negotiable. lets do business.

I have a foolproof way for both of our teams to win at the same time, but it requires working pretty close together and a good deal of trust. I'd really like to make this work, but I also don't want to be burned. If you're interested in this partnership I promise not to burn you if you don't burn me.
