Well since Twilight is obviously popular, it's in the interests of screenwriters to build on the current trend. Basically, bandwagon theory. If it bugs you, ignore it. Although you might end up like me and ignoring a majority of things in life.
"That's the beauty of music.
They can't get that from you...
Haven't you ever felt that way about music?
Here's where it makes the most sense:
You need it so you don't forget.
Forget that...
there are places in this world that aren't made out of stone,
that there's something inside...
that they can't get to,
that they can't touch,
that's yours"-Andy Dufrense
You know what I'm sick of claymores, Grenades, Rpg's, Tanks, falling crevaces, Helicopters, underground caverns....Oh sorry I've been playing uncharted 2.
Interview with a vampire and the rest of those Anne Rice books are amazing. The Vampires Apprentice looks stupid. True Blood is kick ass. The Twilight movies are total crap if you've read the books, if they make Eclipse or Breaking Dawn into movies they will be really, really horrible.

I don't get it. What is up with the sudden likeness of vampires? If you want a good vampire movie, go watch the original Dracula.
That movie is god damn horrible and was around in an era where people just watched movies for an actors abilities rather than story telling. Thing is there's always a trend going on like this. It's not really that gigantic or that bad at all.
