Honestly this doesn't even look all that fun, especially after you get past the learning curve. Guitar Hero and Rock Band stay fun past the learning curve but this method of gameplay seems pretty uninteresting.

Though I'm just basing this off of seeing someone else play it, I could be wrong.

Sure the gameplay is new, but you cant just say it sucks before you try it

Did you ever think that Activision/RedOctane/Neversoft wanted to appeal to more people by making a music game that's another genre?
Why would you even post stuff that says rap sucks and stuff if you clicked a forum that said DJ HERO, when the key word here is DJ?

I know I'm making this a big deal, but I'm just tired of surfin through the web, reading reviews/previews of this game, when I see a bunch of hating comments about the genre/gameplay because its not like Guitar Hero or because the people who have played Guitar Hero hate it so much that they dont even want to play DJ Hero.

P.S. Can't wait until the game comes out !

I pre-ordered my copy last night, and it's still set for that 10/27/2009 release. The creators have released many videos demonstrating the game mechanics, and I encourage anyone to watch a few before making assumptions about the difficulty/amusement levels.

The directional scratching in the first video seems daunting. The second video looks like it would require good general skill of the game. The third video is just a track I'm looking forward to playing . I think it will be a solid couple of months after release until someone really dominates the game.

I agree with you, Without Harmonix Guitar hero is crap. I was seriously pissed off that I pretty much wasted $60 on guitar hero 4, the best part of that game was the user-made material because a lot of it was actually fun to play. I am still probably going to get "DJ hero" for the fun of it though... and then I will just get disappointed by another Activision music-based game

Looks like it'd be fun for the initial period (and learning curve) but I can't imagine the songs getting overly difficult considering the simple structuring of the game.

This. I figure it'd be fun for the first few songs, and then it'd be the same boring 3 note action over and over.

The problem I have is it tries too hard to be a simulator. When people think DJ's they're like lol scratching those disks, its so easy. I think when they realize how complex it actually is, people will be too intimidated by it.

I've used Virtual DJ and I've been up close with a few tables in real life and TBH, yes it does require a certain amount of skill to make it sound good, but it's really not that hard at all, although like...nobody scratches discs anymore.

That is response enough to "I don't think it'll be that hard". Although there's probably a definite (and probably obvious) cap on how hard it could really get.

It looks like it'll be cool for a while at least, but I doubt it would have any solid lasting value. I'd play though.
