Gray, you are right, but it is my personal opinion that how many guards there are should not affect the way we move.

There is no reason that we need to know the number of guards. Knowing how many would only hurt us by making our movement more predictable.

Suffice it to say that if you can kill a guard, kill it. You don't need to tell anyone.

The guards can slowly go down in number but we never need to know exactly how many. There is really no reason. I'm serious here.

I, for one, would like to know how many guards are left. I don't care where it died, as I have already sent in my move orders and in future days my movement will not be decided by where and where not the guards are. In fact, if I find out the guard was killed on, for example, Floor A, I would make it a point to not go to Floor A for a while. Anybody else would be stupid for going there unless they planned on going there to begin with.

Besides, even if they said where they were going, they might have lied. I strongly encourage whoever it was to at least inform us whether or not the guard is alive.

Also, I think we should end movement phase as soon as all movement orders are in. At this rate, the game will take a long time, but if we switch to decision phase as soon as move orders are in, things could go a lot quicker. For this reason, I suggest people just go ahead and move. I would like to hurry and find another terminal and try and win this game. All this discussion isn't really helping, as we're all continually going to vote No Lynch until somebody gets seered.

        So, there's a guard in room C-3.

        He's still alive.

        Purple out.

          There you have it.

Magenta, it's only 48 hours per cycle, it's not too long. We should be able to end the game in about 14 cycles (one month) It'll go by fast. We're back into regular school days so there should be no reason for lack of commitment. Also, there's no good reason to know the number of guards alive. Really. What does it matter.

I just like knowing. Any a month for this game is too long. People start to lose interest after about a week. Remember the game Kilga hosted? Took forever and people hated it. Seriously, if everybody has their move orders in, why not go ahead and move to the next decision phase?

Look at this from Chardish's point of view. There's no happy medium. Now people complain, if it's shorter people complain that they can't get online before deadlines. Why don't you ask chardish to make a poll of various playout times and then people can vote, that way there's no reason to complain.

Are we still going through with the "tell what floor you're going to" plan?

PS Purple, what took so long for you to tell us? You should have either told us immediately (so we'd know how many are left), or not told us at all (to avoid everyone grouping there).

It isn't going to change. Stop complaining about it. Yes, the game seems to be stalling a little atm, but that is because we are just starting to get information, and many people received no information during phase 1 from the alert. That will change as the game goes on, as more information is revealed, as alliances start, etf.

I'm not saying the deadline should be shortened. Did you even read my post? I said that if everybody has already sent in their move orders, we should proceed to the next day. That's how decision phase works, isn't it? Once everybody casts their vote and does whatever action they choose in their room it moves to the next movement. It will automatically go on after 11:59pm but if people are ready before then, we might as well move on. We're not really discussing anything here, so what's the point of keeping this going if everybody is ready?

Chardish, please post YOUR thoughts on the matter.

I can understand the idea of moving the game forward early IF TIME PERMITS. You people have to understand that I have to write 15 PMs every 24 hours, and there's a lot of grunt work that goes into that (comparing charts, etc.). I have 6 text files right now that I'm using to run this game: a list of all players/roles/colors, a list of all moves by phase, a list of all rooms and who's been there, a list of all decisions, a list of all passwords, and a list of all PMs that need to be sent out. Running a TWG is like a 100 meter dash. Running this monster is like a marathon.

Needless to say, every time phases switch you're talking about a half hour's worth of work on my part. I chose the 11:59 deadline because that was a time I was pretty sure I could be at my computer every night. IF I have all move orders and IF I have the time, I'll start Decision Phase early (but it will still end at 11:59 the next day.)

Also, some people *cough*MAGENTA*cough* are way more active than others (some of whom have less than 10 posts, or wait until the late evening to send in orders.) I feel like by rushing the game, I'll be forcing everyone to be as active as Magenta.

I don't think people will lose interest in this game because everyone still has a part to play and something to do. In TWG, as the game gets further and further on, initial speculations are put to rest and people don't have anything to go on. In this, people have more and more to go on the farther into the game it gets. The individual becomes more important further into the game.

                        Teal.

                        b) A Hacker fought the guard and stalemated, and is now going elsewhere and...
b-i) They have not yet checked in because they have no reason not to say they triggered the Alarm and was unable to kill the guard.

I'm not trying to force people to be as active as me (though it would be nice :P) and I'm not trying to force a lot of work on you, but I figured if everybody picks their move then we could go ahead and get a move on. Thanks for at least giving me hope of a slightly faster game!

And I know what you mean Chardish, I'm not even running the game and I have 3 spreadsheets for it.

Indigo, why not just use the multiple sheets that are offered by Excel within 1 spreadsheet. Saves you the hassle of having to have 3 open at once. That is what I'm doing. 3 in 1. Room Locations on sheet1, Player Statements on sheet2, Notes on sheet3. Very simple and handy.

Yellow, a few things. 1. Why not mention this up to 24 hours ago. 2. How the f*ck are you not sure?!? YOU HAVE HAD 24+ HOURS TO CONFIRM WHAT YOU FOUND!!!! Jeez.

Team, your stupidity is running rampant and it is starting to piss me off. Stop it now.

Why not mention it up to 24 hours ago? I just recieved my latest info. How am I not sure? Well it wasn't crystal clear, and I am not going to be moving there until next turn, so no I have NOT had 24+ hours to confirm what is in the room. Instead of calling me stupid, why don't you give me a chance to explain myself. Thanks.
