The group of soldiers stand over their two dead squadmates.

"It's just as I thought," states Vale. "They're here, undercover. They won't stop until we're all dead."

"Well, what do we do now?" asks Mavy.

"We use our heads," Myne answers. "We get rid of potential threats one by one. Sooner or later, they're bound to turn up sometime."

"That doesn't sound like a solid plan to me." Vale retorts.

"It's our only option."

They hang their heads in silence for a moment, a silence interrupted by a sharp cry of pain.

The three turn their heads to witness Mavin crawling on the ground, clutching his left arm.

"What's happening to him?" Mavy cries?

Mavin rises up to a kneeling position, breathing rapidly and obviously struggling to move. His arm begins to quiver; he attempts to stifle whatever is coming out of it, but it is too late. Massive claws erupt from his hand as he cries out and collapses. A few seconds pass, and some of the shocked company think him dead. That changes when he begins to stir; he brings himself up effortlessly to a standing position. Claws erupt from the other hand as he turns to face them, an evil, malicious gleam in his eye, all restraint replaced by fury. He rushes toward them with incredible speed. Myne draws his weapon with milliseconds to spare and fires. The creature that was once their squadmate falls back and is laid flat upon the earth. Dark blood runs from the side of his head as his eyes slowly close. The stunned companions can only watch as their former friend dies.
