I drew this baneling a few months back. I sadly got some layers in the wrong order when I uploaded it, original file is lost forever. this is the reason it looks a bit off on some spots. I have actually gotten a bit better and am still learning. I won't post more recent art since most of it involves semi nudeness and I am not sure if that is allowed.
And a rose I drew. I have to admit, I had to use a photo reference to get this far. I need to learn to draw these things out of my head.
There is no shame in using reference. Even the pros do it.
In fact, it's encouraged use reference because how can you draw something realistic without knowing what it (or its components) is supposed to look like?
that said, look at your reference more because I can tell it's flawed. Edge control, shape definition and color are very poor.

yea you're right, but I actually didn't look at the reference when I was colouring it. I wanted to try this from my head. pictured the sun somewhere and started filling. But I really do see your point.
As for the edges, I have no idea how I should do this. I use painttool sai for this and I can't figure how to get layer masks going. so I had to draw everything by hand. the reason the edges are choppy is because the linework basicly covered everything up untill this moment. You're right on all levels though
I apreciate the feedback, thanks. Maybe someday I can become a good respected artist .
You should learn to control your edges without masks first, masking is only a tool that speeds up the process but you should be able to do it freehand. Make sure you use a hard brush for edge control or your edges will end up fuzzy like they are now.
yep, you hit the nail right on the head there. this rose was built up from use of fuzzy brushes only. hence the flawes. Oh well, you know what they say; "practice makes perfect".
Great job everyone!
Spitfire that concept work looks amazing...
Spenner those ink doodlings are very cool.
Quigly I love the one with the red dot and two twigs. The background on that is also amazing. Nice perspective drawing, btw.
3lijah nice
Wayward Vagabond will we get to see some work on real paper? D: Let's see more!
Spenner... you have a very good eye for graphic design.
I actually have quite a few projects that I'm juggling but here's one that I've been working on for quite some time. It was originally for a contest but I was unable to meet the deadline due to my work schedule.
Posted awhile back, I know - I just wanted to say that reminds me so much of River Song from Dr. Who. xD
@.@ MephBoss, are these just from your head??? I want to be able to do this so bad...amazing!!
Props to everyone, including of course spit, spenner, and quigly xD Ridiculous.
