inserting expected Resistance 4 hatred here:
generic basslines w/ hella gay quad & hand spam to go with them. during the part of the file where there weren't hands & quads everywhere, there were either jacks (which I despise) or blatant (12) or (34) spam. sure is RAN in here ps those 64th rolls make me want to hang myself |

Arsonist Musician: Fighter X Step Artist: Kommisar Song Genre: Arcade Difficulty: 68 Song Length: 3:19 Haven't played this one yet. In The Clouds Musician: JT Bruce Step Artist: Tidus810 Song Genre: Misc Difficulty: 29 Song Length: 1:00 Was a bit mleh for my taste, but not that bad. Introduction Musician: OSTER Project Step Artist: LongGone Song Genre: Misc Difficulty: 44 Song Length: 1:02 First off instant love for vocaloid <3 Second off, a bit annoyed the harder points were all on the same hand, but the chart's fun and makes pretty good sense at a glance. Neurotoxin Musician: sakuzyo Step Artist: Reshiram Song Genre: Dance 2 Difficulty: 63 Song Length: 2:10 Have not played this either. Resistance 4 Musician: Pyongyang Hardcore Resistance Step Artist: mi40 Song Genre: Misc Difficulty: 77 Song Length: 3:53 These are my thoughts as I viewed this file. The hand usage is shit. Literal shit. They go to nothing in particular and are there for difficulty. The graces are placed wrong in spots. The quad has no purpose. It emphasizes no sound worth emphasizing. Anyone with the intelligence to breathe could figure that out. I saw two 12th notes that are blatantly off sync. Pattern variation is so limited it hurts. A cut could have been made @ 1,500 notes in to save us from further stupidity. The song as a whole is boring so hell even cutting it sooner would be better. That just happens to be the nicest place. Lots of anchors zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz 64th rolls into a quad? Fucking goof balls you missed that? Really? Again another part where he could have cut it short nicely. You have potential that you're just wasting Ji. And the judges are letting you do it. There's either lazy judges afoot, biased judges, or judges who don't care to keep letting this garbage in. If this is the new standard of quality, I could take a dump take a picture of it and submit it and it'd be a better step chart than this filth. Snow [Ca5] Musician: Ca5 Step Artist: DossarLX ODI Song Genre: Misc Difficulty: 62 Song Length: 2:00 Was alright. A bit dull and had some things I disagree with like even charting the snow part in the first place, but a lot better than say W. |

Re: Songs of the Week (April 13, 2013)
Arsonist - Havent played through yet because the 64th swing shit is annoying, so I quit out.
In the Clouds - Nice easy chart, not much to say. Introduction - Pretty solid first chart, nice job. Some parts were iffy, but nothing that makes the file not worth playing. Neurotoxin - Started off pretty decent, then those 32nds and other shit were a complete turn off and made the chart bleh. Resistance 4 - Wasnt really a fan of this one. Song wasnt that bad, but nothing amazing. Chart was ok for the first half, could have been cut when the 32nds stepped to the flutes kicked in. Didnt really seem needed, felt like they were there just to spice of the difficulty a tad. Would have been better to cut out that part since it was repetitive to the part before hand anyway. Then again its FFR, love repetitive shit unless its a rock song doing it lol. Some of the burst stuff was kinda bleh, those ending rolls into the quad especially. Idk, could have been better, but didnt expect much going into this based off the step artist. lol Snow [Ca5] - Decent chart, dont like this version of the song though, wish you would have done the other version of the song, the one thats in one of those HSMP's on SM. |

Yeah, no. There is only so much you can do with the song without making the steps just outright random. This isn't a pad file. Quote:

Re: Songs of the Week (April 13, 2013)
For Resistance 4, that "64th roll going into a quad" is not straightforward rolling, it's a weird case of four 1-framers right next to each other. There's a noticeable gap starting on the 8th notes. So yeah like Fission said just do a quick roll for each 4 notes, but don't do a straight roll.

It's like Into Your Eyes. A roll into a quad or vice versa is just silly no matter how you look at it to me. |

Re: Songs of the Week (April 13, 2013)
At first when I saw "64th roll going into a quad" I thought there would be a 1 framer or something. That's not the case here. If anything, you could just hit the last two notes before the quad as a jump. Tageri's 32nd into the hand creating a two frame minijack is worse to hit than that roll in Resistance 4. It depends on the speed of the roll and how it's structured.

@ Middie: there's nothing roll with having a roll into a quad as long as there is a respectable distance from the last note of the roll and the quad (or between the quad and the first step of the roll). You're making it seem like he forced a 64th roll into a quad with no spacing whatsoever, and that's simply not the case. I'll say this: I wasn't a huge fan of Resistance 4 because of the first half, but I would definitely load up R^3 and play the second half of that file again and again, because Ji definitely did it right at the end. Although... fuck you ji: EDIT: yeah, there's definitely a lot of space. I would barely even consider the left arrow a "mini-jack" into the quad, at all. |
