I pop in every so often, but only to check for any newly-badged puzzle games. Everything else feels like a chore to play and I don't like that so w/e.

Also too many multiplayer games with badges.

And fuck off I only ever Kong'd for the badges.

For me, Call of Gods was the straw that broke the camel's back.

Got real tired of all those games with energy meters where you could only play for like 20 minutes at a time before your energy ran out (which would oftentimes take forever to recharge). Ain't nobody got time for that.

Yeah, pretty much. And they just added some "100 million raid damage" badge to some old energy game, not even gonna try that one.

In other news, I did manage to get Gravity Llama and Frantic 3 I think I'm significantly more likely to get an impossible if it's in a genre I enjoy, as opposed to something like Sonny 2 or Bubble Tanks Tower Defense where I know I'd get bored long before getting enough skill/knowledge to get the badge.

Fucking Dream World... I actually enjoyed that game to an extent, but it took me 2 weeks of regularly checking back just to get every badge. Ever since that game got badges though, I got progressively more irritated when time-restrictive games also got badged.

The worst since then, for me, has been Tyrant. I have no idea why I stuck it out... but I made friends on that game and joined a clan or whatever the fuck, got my last badge, and then said "PEACE OUT MOTHERFUCKERS" as I sold every good card I possessed. I think I spent a month on that game where most days I played for maybe 20 minutes.

Fuuuucckkk, yeah. That one dungeon was ridiculous... SF27 or something. It took hours to beat and you were at the mercy of disconnection issues/glitches/one-hit KO's/getting enough high-powered people together in the first place. That was a really grindy-as-hell badge, but IIRC it didn't have a forced wait-mechanic. It just took a long time to burn through all the XP.

But my beef wasn't even with games like SS2 -- it was mostly with the games riddled with artificial time-inflation. Tyrant, for instance, could be hammered out in one sitting without the time meter, but nope. All that waiting means you're looking at a few days/week to get anywhere. Lob on crap like Dream World, Caesary, Heroes of Gaia, Call of Gods, Fantasy Online, Swords and Potions, yada yada yada... blah. A lot of that stuff was profitable for Kong, but it drove me away in the end because I was spending so much more time on those games compared to the non-MMO's.

At one point I had calculated the timesink, and I can't remember the specifics but it was like, just a few MMO's ate up like 50-60% of the time vs. every other badge over the same time period combined.

Lol it still took us over an hour with Tass running us through with his admin powers... so dumb

But yeah I wouldn't mind the MMOs if there wasn't so many of them.. And they seem to all get badged since it helps kong I'm guessing.

There's just too much generic shit all over the place to be entertaining :\

Seems to be that way with a lot of gaming business cycles -- you have to get in early and enjoy it while you can before it grows too big and starts dealing in generic mainstream crap for the sake of profit. I can't fault them for it, since they are a business and everything and it'd be silly for them to not maximize where they can... but it always loses its spark at that point. Decision-making becomes less guided by what's cool/fun/interesting/challenging and more by what brings in the most money.

If we're talking about non-badge accomplishments, y'all should try a pretty tough little platformer called Chromatic: http://www.kongregate.com/games/Arkeus/chromatic So far I'm one of 8 people on Kong who have 100%'d it.
