Hmm, interesting. I've never been one to apply jack theory much (likely due to my intense dislike for minijacks), I felt that freezes were a good way to bring out the guitar in a more unique way - SoC in general was stepped a bit differently from my usual style and that was a way I felt it would work.

As for the jumpjacks, those were primarily intended to bring out the multiple instruments at work in that specific section (hands would actually have worked but I thought that was overkill). My stepping style generally is to bring out the certain instruments and sections at work, which is why my jump usage isn't 100% uniform, especially in the solo sections.

To see what I mean, try playing the Edit chart sometime - that was the old 2009 chart that lingered in my folder for years prior to some clean-up work and revisions made to bring it up to standard for this pack. It's even more densely layered the Oni chart, to a fault actually. I removed a bunch of steps to certain sounds and instruments because of how much it broke the flow of the song at a few points.

The ending was a pan flute solo - the thing is, I didn't want to put it as plain freezes because I felt it was a waste to ignore the relatively even drum work going on. I was hoping to add a challenge factor to this song since many parts (especially that sax) really had some incredible stepping potential - but I see your point though, and in hindsight a really easy chart would have been a nice addition.

Nice commentary, it's definitely a contrasting take to my own opposing opinion on it, but I appreciate the comments regardless! Glad you enjoyed it, and yeah I almost killed myself stepping this way back in the day haha. It's pretty disappointing that none of my files made your top 20 but I'm glad you liked them regardless!
