Epilogue for file and song choice of the year. \o/ Possibly rescinded because I just played .357 Magnum. @_@

Ya honestly Epilogue isn't bad. Nothing revolutionary but it's a pretty well-made file in general.
(Better than the piece of trash you sent me to test last year certainly lolol)

.357 Magnum = Very nice. My only real complaint is that I would've liked to have some hands on the crashes, especially since you threw those quads in there. Song was gr8 too. A-

Epilogue - Aside from some wrong PA, couple of missing jumps (at least to me), pointless/inconsistent white notes near the end, and the missed opportunity to put a quad at the very very end, it was aite. Song was also gr8. B+

It's Too Loud - Very nice job on the sync. I think for the start though where there's constant 8th's it would've been nice to just have the 8ths going to the bassline or whatevs. I also put on pants specifically for this song. B

Pinkie's Castle - ponies :ugh: The steps themselves were fine though as far as the technical side of things go, it's just that they were...generic? idk. B

Nix-Tek - Absolutely no complaints. Chart and song was amazing. A+

.357 Magnum

What is it about Xi songs that encourage full technical mode? Stop stepping them like this guys, holy shit, I want a fun Xi song for once. Props for technicality, props taken away for being a typical Xi chart. 7 / 10 due to being forced because it's an alright chart just dull as shit.

Epilogue

Opinion is biased, though I am annoyed at myself for that ****ing intro. Haven't been able to get a solid play of it in. The little 8th note 2 2
sort of stuff keeps making me derp as well.

It's Too Loud

Dull, but to be expected for what difficulty it is. Song was too loud. 7 / 10

Nix-Tek [Veteran's Song]

Not impressed even remotely. In fact, I think I feel disappointment. N/A

Pinkie's Castle

Dull, not worth being in Purchased at all. Put Magnum here as at least it's not boring, or Pony ****ed. Paid 800 credits for a chart I literally played once. 7 / 10 cause I don't have to play it again due to not having some ****** part in it that I honestly expected to have to do.

Blah. Gonna get hate for this but whatever. Just my one cent. Fine grains of sand right?

.357 Magnum - whoa where did this come from MN lmao. could have had a better structure to it because stuff starts to run into each other but this was still well done 7/10

Epilogue - could have definitely been better if you spent more time with the PR, but you're improving dude keep at it 6/10

It's Too Loud - old school file, at least its not as long as stuff like driveway 6/10

Nix-Tek - straight forward file with great emphasis on particular instruments (send in arsonist you tard) 9/10

Pinkie's Castle - pretty much just a technical and generic 8th note file, nothing too surprising 5/10

.357 Magnum - I had fun with this file overall. It was nice and kept me on my toes. 8/10

Epilogue - This is a nice speedy chart which can be very easily mind-blockable (Me). I like the alternating trills. There are some spots with PR, but overall it's pretty good. 8.5/10

It's Too Loud - A straight-forward chart. Not much to say about this really. 7/10

Nix-Tek - Ok. Whoever puts the mini-jacks in this is purely evil. This file will take a while for me to FC. I like files that challenge me like this one can. 8/10

Pinkie's Castle - An MLP song eh? Nice chart and flow to it. Just some basic patterns mixed with some easy jump jacks. 7/10

it's too loud/pinkie's castle-nothing bad about them, sightread and prolly wont play again, good charts i guess.

i had good sightreads gone bad on all the 3 harder ones all in their endings >:S, i'll replay later.

epilogue was decent, some annoying patterns but song was cool and flowed okay i guess.

.357 magnum was cool, that quad caught me off guard and i dumped a crapload of goods in the ending lol, but xi files are usually well stepped and fun and this is no exception.

favourite file of the week was nix-tek, cool song and very fun file, the one middle section with the minijacks and stuff caught me off guard and the ending again caused me to dump tons of goods, but i'll definitely be playing this one again, soso fun

I agree with j-rodd, Nix-Tek was actually quite fun for me. Epilogue was pretty awesome too, on mirror. Overall a pretty good week of releases.

Stream 16th notes because FFR's timing window is the size of Asia.

(dammit Carlos said it first, lol.)

------------------------------------

.357 Magnum: oh my god, this file is GOLD. Absolutely amazing -- everything feels perfect pattern-wise and the chart is visually pleasing with appropriate pattern repetition for repeating arpeggios/trilling and the repeating 8th note taps for the hi-hat repeats are just gorgeous. Everything just fits so goddamn well and I love it. A few missing cymbal crashes are noticeable but it's FAR from enough to detract my appeal. A++++ in my book.

Epilogue: Fun. The reverse PR trips me out a bit. Otherwise, there's nothing too overbearingly difficult. Not quite as smooth as I would like for an intense piano solo like this, but it's certainly not bad at all.

Nix-Tek: I don't have much to say about it, really. The jack section around 900ish combo was a nice touch, but other than that, it's really not my cup of tea. File is stepped very well, though (can't really expect different from Kommisar).

It's Too Loud: Nothing wrong with it. File is stepped accurately, but certainly not something I can see myself playing again, unfortunately.

Pinkie's Castle: Very well done and certainly enjoyable to me. I like the attention to detail within the patterning in comparison to the melodies of the song, and the chart flows pretty smoothly too.

.357 Magnum was realllly great. I didn't find the 4343232121 trill/roll thing to be fitting during the middle otherwise, everything was coherent, clean and fun. I'd like to see more files like this. :3 9/10

Epilogue had potential to be a REALLY good file, but I'll admit, the PR was atrocious and didn't seem to follow the song that well. Layering was ok, although I found the hands to be a bit overkill for just simple piano chords. Overall, this was fun and it flowed well, but the lack of technicality makes it fall flat. 6/10

will review rest l8r

Hey guys, thanks a lot for the kind words about .357 magnum. Means a lot to me, seriously. I would've never expected that kind of feedback, it's amazing to see.

oh and Epilogue actually rocks!!

.357 Magnum
Kinda fun but the patterns feel too forced and awkward at some points. technically nothing wrong with it but not really my cup of tea. Have to have control for the patterns because there are a lot of (sometimes hidden) 8th jacks which is something I'm not a fan of cause that doesn't flow well imo.

Epilogue
Not bad, definitely an improvement on your other files but has some seriously awkward patterns and PR doesn't make sense at parts. On song choice, I feel that this song is like one of those badly made guitar hero songs to make for a difficult chart cause the good songs don't make for hard enough files for the pros anymore. The song itself feels inconsistent and the melody all over the place. Not that this is hard but it's the same idea.

It's Too Loud
I normally don't play easy files cause I find most of them boring but for an easy files this was pretty fun. Won't be playing it again though cause easy and AAA'd.

Nix-Tek [Veteran's Song]
Flows well and is really fun. Jacks make for a nice challenge. No complaints
