So first off, thank you for all of the feedback I have gotten from my first track. Now, I release this. It has some "Somebody That I Used To Know" in it. I would love to hear either you feedback, or how YOU would change it to make it better. Or what works, dosent work. Im up for ALL input. Thank you very much
![]() EDIT: Re-uploaded. I fixed the kick. It's a bit more sexy now http://soundcloud.com/djv1/somebody

These vibes are fun to hear and they flow easily.
But I don't like how you put the singing voice in it ![]() 1:04 to 2:18 is my favorite part, though, you should dig further in that kind of style

I think the most important aspect in your writing you should start working on is the musical form or structure of your entire composition. This extremely important because it dictates how a song wants to be listened by the "audience."
To elaborate further, the most basic structure in electronic music is the tension and release of a climax. You want to pick a section of your song that will be the most memorable or catchy. You then use the other sections to build into that "climax" or to break away after it finishes. Listen to your favorite songs, and I would start drawing "emotional" graphs. Designate which parts make you the most emotional or excited. This will help you understand how you want your music to flow. This is pivotal in keeping a listener's attention and emotional investment all the way through your composition. I would even go further to understand if there is an extended period of time during a buildup or climax section, how a composer uses different tricks or techniques to make it seem less repetitive and monotonous, thereby keeping the listener interested. |
