So what's the deal with the tumor? Did it work? It seems like it created the green sun but that makes no sense to me.

Yes, they created the green sun. It was later confirmed on Hussie's tumblr. Doc Scratch had been lying to them the whole time in the way of omitting information, duping them into creating it, when they thought that they were trying to destroy it.

When Rose and Dave made it out to the point, there was no green sun to be seen at all, and the tumor revealed itself to be some kind of device that took input from the destruction of each universe. Since this is out in the Furthest Ring, time and space are not constant, so when they formed the green sun, Aradia was right there waiting for them when they emerged.

Now if you were to look back at the Doc's conversations with Rose, you'll see that he was never lying, but he was also leading to this exact revelation, one that we never wanted to believe or even had the ability to put together, as we were piecing together a story that we wanted to hear from incomplete information. One of the most notable things he said is that the green sun has the mass of two universes. The more detailed hints can be found here, which include many that I never actually picked up on. Hussie is a magnificent bastard.

I did my latest readthrough during the weekend before the End of Act 5. It took the better part of three whole days, but it was worth it.

ok so what about dave and rose?

I thought you needed a dream self to got tiger but Dave's took over after Jade+Dave vs. Jack banner battle and Rose also lost to Jack. Was it an effect of the newly created green sun that they got tiger?

In the animation, you'll notice that Dave and Rose were standing on the quest beds in the middle of the Derse moon, as they set off the tumor. These quest beds are different than the on-planet ones, as they only require a dreamself to die on the bed.

They seem to be reserved for the case of having no living real self. Hussie further explained on his tumblr that Aradia reached god tier in this same exact way. She had been dead for a long time, so when she entered the Medium, her dreamself was tucked away in the center of her dream planet's moon, so when it got destroyed, she got-tigered with no living self.

Oh ok, I was just thrown off because I don't believe anybody ever actually talked about that in the comic. I just kinda assumed that the quest beds in the derse/prospit moons had the same rules as planetary quest beds.

It is going to induce tears of joy throughout the homestuck-stepmania land.
