I made it when some peepz at some forums were talking about how to save stepmania and that's what I think of it.

Making more files will probably keep StepMania players but they will never bring new players. Therefore making beginner packs is totally pointless since this is not what will bring new players and these pack are targetting an unexisting audience.

Players will never play eternally and some of you played this game for many many years already and/or have less interest than before and some of you quitted (i.e. alexd). So over time StepMania is dying more and more unless new players come.

Me, GD and moches are among what we used to call the new generation of notecharters (later Light Chancellors) while what we call Dark Chancellors were the previous generation. And now some would like to see us bringing the new generation (newer than us). But this is possible only if we bring new people to the game.

If LCs weren't promoted by DCs (in other words if Kommisar didn't make Xoon mini packs) all packs since 2009 would have never existed and things would have gone differently and probably badly. If some random peep make a pack nobody would dl/submit to it, but if GD makes a pack it will be different (i.e. Icyworld's packs vs. Light Chancellors packs). That is what happened with Kommisar's packs. LC need to lead the way not because of elitism thing but because most of them have a reputation in this sh*it.

Good players can lead the way as well, I think of LG right now. But you probably know my Danse Macabre file, it was most wanted because of aCiiiii. He made a YouTube video and peepz were like whoa lemme try this file and it turns out it was going to feature in Xoon mini pack 1 and yeah my file brought peepz to this pack with the help of aCiiiii as well as Kommisar's reputation brought peepz to it.

Basically bringing new people to the game will improve our community and make the packs more played. Personally, I hope that more people will play solo so my pack will reach over 100 downloads LoLoLoL.

So the thing is how to bring new people to StepMania, and this image sums up different ways for an average dude to discover StepMania like we did or not. So from my points of view we can increase the chances that average dudes gets into StepMania through YouTube because YouTube is the common battlefield of everything. You probably know that Arch0wl's Quasar video brought a f*uckload of peepz to this game. And about me it was IzzySM's video which brought me to this game and look what I've done. Some random people can bring a lot to this game and community. If you have faith in this sh*it, bring random people. If not ... go play LEGO

roar speaks the truth. i think in every pack thread there should be a video preview of whats inside the pack and have the pack be linked to all the pr0 players n shit and what not
