I guess on the new ipod commercial they have those songs on there, and I was thinking, "Wow, this band sounds way too much like Coldplay," and what do you know? It was Coldplay. Of course, I was liking the song, it's just funny with all this talk about Coldplay ripping off Joe Satriani.

I absolutely love Coldplay, but even if their messages are down to Earth and touching in Viva La Vida, the melodies have disappointed me so far.

I have yet to buy the album though, and I'm definitely looking forward to it.
Maybe I just missed the really good songs, since every album so far has had 2 or 3 really beautiful and heartfelt songs.

I wrote somewhere that when I first heard Viva la Vida, it sounded like a song I had heard before. And since I never heard of Joe Satriani before, it couldn't have been him.

You know what it sounds like? It sounds like Coldplay. Mash up Clocks with this song.

Also, you can't prove that they copied another band. It's entirely possible for someone to come up with something they think is unique only to realize someone else has already done it. And with literally billions of songs in our world now, you'd think it would be obvious this would happen.

Here's what you take away from all this: It's still a good song regardless.
