Although people appreciate the effort, I dont really support romanizations and romanji, etc. Its so unefficient, and if you plan on learning the language seriously, this will only hinder you further.

Actually, the meaning is a little heavier than "and". I think it's best used as "and then" or "also". I'm pretty sure that Japanese doesn't really have a sentence conjunction that matches the English "and" exactly.
