yea. At first i didnt really like it. But after thinking about it, i actually like this idea. Just cuz it be nice to have something to look at instead of mostly black backgrounds while playing. lol =P

They're talking about it so that they would be giving some money to Synth, I don't think they're talking about limiting it to subscribers only.

You are correct, everything on this site is supposed to have no costs and available to all guests/users. There will be nothing but a small token(item) of appreciation when you subscribe.
But possibly in the prototypes it will most likely be tested by subscribers, or not.

Yeah the new list seems to be operating on the much more useful logic of

"We're providing an incentive to the company to develop this new content, by gathering supporters who would provide financial support in exchange for the new content"

I was actually thinking more simplistically. Having a character in the background is cool and such, but it sounds complicated to etch out every single move, and it could prove distracting to the player if they're actually trying to do something with the song(like FC/AAA) and it would probably cause lots of lagging... I was probably thinking along the lines of maybe 2-D or 3-D. And maybe if you clear a stage it could perform an animated move depending on your score. Like for example, if you pass the song the character may give an animated thumbs-up or peace sign(lol). If you FC song the character would do a 2-3 second dance move, and If you AAA the song the character would perform a "way" better move. (so on and so forth)

Yeah, you're right. But in doing SOMETHING like that it can attract a different group of people to this site and cause more plays of the game due for the demand for these "items"; thus, making this site more popular and played more at the same time. Plus, they could be really obsessive and support this site like many FFR users do.

The reason why I'm saying all this stuff is that synth may need the funds to find someone who can do all this work, unless his team can already do so etc... But still, having these characters possibly in 3rd style or R1 it will take up quite some space so they may need the revenues to have more room, and with enough willing subscribers he has that.

But, but... I said...
Lol, its all good. Like I said, I don't know if I am for sure going to be able to.

...OH! And the drawings for the characters/items would be done in flash right? EASY! I'll happily draw items, BUT NOT ANIMATE THEM. Make a note by my name saying "WILL DRAW ITEMS" or something (NOTE: I suck at people )


EDIT: OHOHOHOHOHHHHHH!!!!!!! Another idea for the use of characters! We could have some items be weapons and armors, then implant a whole new "battle system" to put say, Garenzo and irishknight against each other in turn-based fights to show off how many credits we wast... *cough* SPENT on our characters!!!!!! Probably not.

EDIT2: Ooooooooorrrr certain items could be "activated" and they automatically convert an "x" amount of goods or averages (or even boo's and misses) into perfects! For example:

I get 33 perfects on excite bike and 1 good and 1 average. ARGH! HOWEVER after the song, I can open up a special menu, click the item to activate it, then BAM I AAA'd the song. Of course, there would be a new rating called "Item AAA". The name for that is self explanitory, I'm sure.
