Sony's success has very little to do with they themselves. It's purely because they jumped in the video game market at an opportune time when Nintendo decided to stick with an out-moded, expensive, restrictive media type and in the process alienated their strongest supporters (like Square, for example.)
I had a feeling my analogy wasn't going to be right on target.

The thing is, I don't that companies think to themselves when they make a product, "letz scru d customoors". I know Microsoft does not make faulty scripting on purpose just like how Sony does not makes exploding laptops on purpose.
