with the velo engine, it should ask you to log in if you aren't logged in...

Yes, but upon doing so, every song "loads" instantaneously and the file never starts.

A lot of Mac users that I have seen had to just use a standalone application. Is that a problem for you for some reason?

I heard something like that on prochat, but it wasn't made very clear what exactly to look for.

I ran into this problem myself when I was seeing if I could play a song or two on one of my school's computers that use a mac.

The standalone... simply just doesn't want to load the song at all. It looks like it loads it, but once it starts, it ends it as if there was no chart at all in what it just loaded.

The only way I saw to get around it was actually use the browser. Surprisingly, there didn't seem to be any performance or skipping issues when I was testing the game on the school's Mac machines.

Yeah, it seems like alot of mac users are having the same problem with the velo engine standalone. iirc, it's also the only one that lets you log in without IE (but I could be mistaken), so standalone for many mac users is a no-go right now.

Re: FFR Standalone!

We need a dev that can focus on working out engine bugs on a mac... Velo has said in the past there is only so much he can do to sort out the issues when it comes to macs, because he himself doesn't have one and can't test it..

Found a compatible flash player for anyone using windows 8.

Use flash 11!

the only one without horrendous lag.

It'd be nice to have standalone for the tourney.

Velocity added some new features into the engine. Specifically R^2 now has a judge offset option and you can record a score.

Unfortunately, he took out the login function, so now you have to use the old school method of logging in with Internet Explorer before using R^2.

Whoa, really? That makes it impossible to even log in at all standalone on non-Windows doesn't it :(

Can't we just bug Velocity to put the login function back in R2?

Re: FFR Standalone!

I don't know about anyone else, but R^2 has just acting really crappy for me after the changes. For me, I have to hit the arrows past the targets in order to get a Perfect score; if I hit it on the target, most of the time it results in a Good. I've tried adjusting the offsets and I struggled to even AAA a difficulty 50 song. Didn't have this issue before the changes.

Re: FFR Standalone!

R^2 won't submit my scores anymore.
