Re: FFR Standalone!

I probably should've asked this a long time ago when it actually started doing this to me (been almost a year I think)~~ But my standalone velocity does no work. It will load, I choose a song, the song loads, and then before any arrows come up, it goes to the finish screen and says zero for everything and NaN.0% under percent. I've tried Flash Player 9 and 10, but neither worked. All of the other engines work....Anyone know how to fix this?

Fallen suggested to clear cache. Tried it. Didn't work.

Gonna make a quick statement: I know these questions seem dumb and you may know you're doing it right, but I ask because I need to be sure as well;

1) when you say "cleared cache" what browser did you clear it for?
2) what standalone link are you using?
3) run the standalone in browser and tell me what it does

1) I cleared it for Firefox. Maybe that was wrong?

2) http://www.flashflashrevolution.com/...y/ffr_Wide.swf

3) Worked perfectly fine.

Hmmmmmmmmmmm

Since standalone runs off of Internet Explorer's cache, you need to clear that one. Try that and let me know.

Same reason if you want to be auto-logged in you have to log in using IE.

Re: FFR Standalone!

Hey, I apologize in advanced if this question has already been asked and resolved (I checked around to at least see if it was asked and I found nothing) but this issue just started happening out of nowhere. I use the legacy engine on flash 9 and for the longest time, there have been no issues. Then a few days ago, I started up standalone just like normal and went to play a song, the song would start, but no arrows would come up and I couldn't even just boo out the song. It just piles boos all day long if I hold the key down. Furthermore the song I chose wouldn't even appear on my most recent games list on my profile either. I tested this on several songs and it would be the same result. Also the only way to get out of the song would just be to quit out standalone.

The only solution that has worked for me is to completely redo the standalone (starting a new flash 9, copy paste engine, etc etc) which is obviously a very annoying process to go through every time I try to play FFR.

Like I said this only just started happening a few days ago completely at random. I had no issues whatsoever before that. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I don't see why I have to move to r2/r3. Legacy has worked for me for a long time up until now. I prefer using the Legacy engine also having been used to that since I joined FFR in 2007. It worked fine before so there must be a problem that can be resolved to fix it, be it with my own computer or the site itself.

Re: FFR Standalone!

Have you tried clearing the cache in Internet Explorer? that's the browser that the standalone uses for temp storage of files, so if there is an issue with songs being cached wrong it's probably stored in the IE temp files. Clear your IE cache and see if that resolves anything.. if not come back here and I'll see if I can come up with anything else.

I have gone ahead and cleared the cache and redid the standalone. I'll post tomorrow stating if that did in fact fix the problem.

As I stated, I could already resolve the problem by redoing the standalone so if it continues to work for more than a day after having cleared the cache as well then that makes my problem considered "solved". Thanks for the help.

No problem, I hope it does solve the issue. Not sure what else it would be at this point honestly.

Just popping back in to say that my standalone finally works without me having to redo the whole thing. I was skeptical at first as it just seemed to start happening out of nowhere but I suppose that clearing the cache is the answer to all.

I can't get Dragonsfury engine working on R^3. It says the "Legacy" engine has problems loading, but I am using the R^3 xml file lol Is it just broken?
