I don't play the game anymore due to lag issues regardless if using standalone or not but I hang around to annoy the community with my input, music and files.

First rhythm game I found on the computer after I became infatuated with ddr a few years back. Meeting some amazing people and hearing their life stories. The music, and continuous updates. Not having to download every song that I want to play.

I think the main reason I like FFR over SM is the fact that it's not stored on my computer. SM was great feature wise and I had a lot more files, but if something goes wrong I have to spend hours upon hours getting all the stuff I had back. FFR will be there for me no matter what computer I'm on, and the files are constantly expanding. Also, the higher-level files are challenging enough without the need of holds or mines.

I've never tried Stepmania

it looks really intimidating to get into and I don't have much room on my computer to hold lots of songs <___<

also I heard they don't have multiplayer on Stepmania OR recording of scores/overall/average rankings at all... which sounds like it kinda sucks.

"Why do you play FFR (the game)?" - Because for some reason I can never stop playing this damn game no matter how much I want to quit.

idk, something about having selected files being released to you makes me want to have to play every file in the game, stepmania I can download all the packs I want and get tons of songs but wont even play like 95% of the songs I just downloaded.

Because ever since the 21's of july I decided to max out my fc bar (from 51 fc's then), after that I'm done. FFR is too easy and boring imo

I honestly think this thread is a way to encourage and garner the "simplicity" movement which I disagree with. Simplicity is enjoyable in itself, but that's sort of a stalement in regards to expansion for more possibilities.

To answer the question however, I now tend to play FFR to connect with the community, as opposed to getting the best scores possible. I just really appreciate making simfiles and having others interact with them. I tend to lose the fun if I try to get as many AAAs as possible. I care about the people more than the scores.
