So hmm... i realised after some weeks..that my current keyboard have some problems for Jacking/Mashing .. some Fast thrills,Fast jack,or songs like DP or Crowdpleaser.. i cant have good score or hit the jacks properly with my keyboard..i always miss... BUT.. with other keyboards i have no problems... lets take CLUB..for example.. pretty simple jacks file.. well here with my HP keyboard.. i TAP the damnit arrow right on time..and i get averages and then misses.. but.. with like 2 or 3 other keyboards , i can do them perfectly.. wtf is happening with my keyboard.. ( and yes my HP keyboard does register quads, hands) i just dont get why i suck really bad with this keyboard, and it looks pretty neat and recent though..im better with old keyboard.. ill show you some pic.. can anybody tell me whats the problem?

PS: i dont know the model or anything else exept its a Black HP keyboard.. that you have when u buy a HP computer.

EDIT: Its not a wireless keyboard and its not USB.

HP keyboards are crap for jacks/trills

Get a Zippy EL :D

Maybe you wore some of the keys out somehow?

Have you tried using different setups?

EDIT:HP keyboards are crap for jacks/trills

I have this exact same model of keyboard, and I don't have this problem. It could be either the keyboard itself is broken in some way (not likely), or it could be that there's just some mental problem going on (as in, your using an older keyboard so you think you can do it well, therefore you do it well)

Gibson63
07-31-2008, 11:46 PM
why a Zippy EL ?

MrMagic5239
07-31-2008, 11:48 PM
HP keyboards have hard plastic for buttons which means more friction on the push down and a small delay when you push the button down. Zippy EL is just a reccomendation because it has flat keys like a laptop, no friction because they are flat keys, and you can tap them quickly. There are many other keyboards out there, but summerschool reccomended a Zippy EL, so I bought it, and it works very well for jacks :)

ps2 o_o wtf? its a normal keyboard that u can buy or recieve when u buy a HP computer.

I'm saying if it isn't a usb and it isn't wireless, then do you plug it into the PS2 port (not the system) on your computer?

I know how to fix it.
What set up do you use first?
I had the same thing, all you have to do is change your keys.
Its same with my laptop, i can't jack good with the arrows when I play index, so I had to move my arrows to different setup.
Same can happen with spread if the set up is to close OR to far... its gay like that. :P
Answer asap aswell, i wanna check back on something.

i tryed different setup.... i think its not the problem.. SD KL or AS KL or ZX .é

EDIT: nop, not wireless and not USB

If you want a decent keyboard, go to a used computer store and buy one for 5$. They work just fine. No need to go blow 30$ on a keyboard.

I'm not a ****ing idiot dude ok. If the person doesn't know what a ps2 port is, then it's likely they don't know what a usb port is either.

Otherwise, it's probably a relatively old keyboard which could be the problem anyway. Only solutions are to try new setups, and finally buy one of the other "2-3 keyboards" that worked perfectly for you if setups don't work.

The website I bought it from does not carry it anymore, try http://www.bostonbestpc.com/elmialelkeel.html

You can not buy this keyboard in wal-mart, but im sure you can find it on e-bay

Every model of this keyboard has the same key structure. The 620 is a very small keyboard, and from pictures, so is the 610. It is about half the size of a normal keyboard

im guessing you play spread then?
If so go AS 56 ( 56 on numpad )
Thats what I did, my as kl wasn't workinig properly for me.
If that doesn't work.
Its prob because HP keyboards suck :P
Yeah, i recommend getting the cheap Microsoft ones that are 19.99
They work really well.
I'm still using the one that came with my old computer :P

MooMoo_Cowfreak

Ok, so it is PS2, which means its very old, and probably just worn out and old. Buying a new keyboard is your best bet.

WTFBrandon
08-1-2008, 12:09 AM
And if your going to buy a new keyboard.
Don't get USB, get PS2.
IMO its better.

Gibson63
08-1-2008, 12:09 AM
it does have a ps2 thingy..but..as u can see in the pictures..its not looking old at all...that odd.. it looks clean, black , and seems to work fine..but i guess not

EDIT: ok so... PS2 OR USB? everyone

There isn't a huge difference between PS2 and USB, but I'd get USB, just cause it looks cooler.

I don't shop at best buy, maybe that's why I never saw one in a store :D

Well I have a USB keyboard and it works great for me. My friend has a PS2 although I noticed no difference between his keyboard and my own in performance. Its pretty much up to which version of keyboard you get. Both versions seem to work the same for me xD

you keyboard is ps2, a simple google/wikipedia search can tell you more about the port rather than asking the same question over and over again

Gibson63
08-1-2008, 12:24 AM
hm, so i just tested SD KL setup on hardcore atomic and got like.. 20 + misses everytime... but with AS 56 (numpad) im getting like 5-6-7-8 or 9 misses everytime.... any clue why?

MrMagic5239
08-1-2008, 12:26 AM
different hand positions could give you better angle at jacking

OnixRose
08-1-2008, 12:26 AM
oh and here this might help with the ps2 or usb question here ("http://forums.tweakguides.com/showthread.php?t=1793)

edit: the keyboard could be more worn on keys you commonly press if you don't use the num pad often that's probably why it's better for you

There's also the thing that maybe you aren't that good. What you just said there sounds like inconsistency in playing, not your keyboards fault.

I had the same keyboard before I got my laptop and only noticed problems when the keys were too close, like some people stated above. It's a shame you have to buy a new keyboard. All I did was change my setup :/.

how long have you had the keyboard for?

Gibson63
08-1-2008, 12:59 AM
hum...i dont know... my girlfriend gave it to me..she bought her computer like... months ago.. maybe 5-6 months.. and she was just on msn and stuff.. and she gave it to me like..1-2 months ago

OnixRose

could be worn, it makes sense considering the keys you rarely use work better than the ones you commonly use, assuming you don't use the the num pad that often. However, that's beside the point I have no keyboard suggestions other than ask some people, search forums, or go test some out at a store

Your problem is that your keyboard sucks. Get a new one.

Some of my friends have HP keyboards and have the exact same problem that you described. Get a Dell keyboard or something, since HP seems to have a common flaw.

Targus has a nice keyboard, apparently the keys and feel are similar to that of a laptop/notebook.

EDIT: PS. no need to spend money on a fancy keyboard. One I found in the back of my garage (ps2) works just fine.
