Before I install it, I would like to make sure I got it from a good place, because some places are known for spreading fake programs with viruses and spyware on them.

(Meh, I have Spybot, so I'm not too worried.)

Anyways, I got Avast from FileHippo. Was that a good site to get avast from, or do I possibly have an infected file? (I got CCleaner off of that, so I'm not sure what to think.) Help me out before I go installing stuff that might **** up this computer.

You only have to add a .com to anything that's well known. Let's try:

avast.com

AMAZING

Let's try FFR.

www.ffr.com (http://www.flashflashrevolution.com/vbz/www.ffr.com)

Oh my gosh it works!

EDIT: I actually was surprised when this worked.. It used to be you had to type 3, 4 or 5 after FFR in order for it to take you here.

If you need a small file checked for viruses, use virustotal.com and upload the thing.

It searches the file through about 28 different, credible virus scanners and tells you what each of them picked up through the check.
