clear in png format

I use photo deluxe 3.0 for the majority of my picture editing needs. Whenever I try to use clear in a .png format, it shows as white. Can any of yous help me out as to what I could do?

EDIT: nevermind about this... it's now irrelevent and doesn't matter to me anymore
