for one, TT4 is an awful game... there is no "score" in TT4... you say "points are /10 for this game"... but WTF does that even mean? Are you talking total kills/10? Is there a cap on that?

That's really all minor... the major initial issue is what I assume is a cryptogram. You give us that the 1st 2 letters are H and I, which means the last letter in the puzzle is also an I. Now... there is not a single word in the english language that is 8 letters long, ends in I, and has the 1st 2 letters the same. Not to mention, the puzzle itself is extremely short in terms of being able to solve. As an avid cryptogram solver, I can tell you with 100% certainty that the longer a puzzle is, the easier it is. Short cryptograms are like playing darts blindfolded. Add on to it the lack of a common word for the one clue you did give... and it's all but hopeless to solve.

Beyond that, you didn't list the point value for it.

edit: ninja'd by Jon, apparently. but I second his sentiments... make your tournament original; don't steal large concepts from other people.

Also, /100 is stupid for Motherload. Way back in the day I beat that game and had a score well over 2 billion. /100 with a 1000 cap would be a max score at 100,000... The rarest minerals (which aren't that rare when you get down really really low) are worth 5 million by themselves, IIRC. Not to mention, there is a boss that gives retarded points for beating.

Your tournament still needs serious work.

Score is from December 2005. And, it only shows as 2.1xx billion because that was the LARGE INT max in the database. My score was actually around 4 billion, IIRC.

Ugh, you are thinking to much into it. I do not know what algorithm for cryptograms you know, but it will not help you. He gave you two words, take away the other letters and find a two letter word then a eight letter word.

Also for motherload, was that the same version? There are two different versions... :( The version you played was the one you "could" cheat on.

There are only so many options for two letter words. These letters are left:

if you don't want to actually solve my puzzle... copy it, go to google and type in "cryptogram solver", click the 1st result that comes up, paste the text into the box, then click solve.

it'll only return 1 result. which is correct.


and tophius... do you agree at how incredibly easy the 1000 point req is to reach? WAY too low. it should be /1,000,000 with a cap at 1000. At least that makes it challenging... 4-5 hours worth of work if you know what you're doing.


edit: also... no idea if the version i played is the "cheating" or non-cheating... but i think you can safely assume that i didn't cheat when i did that back in 12/05.
