lol, dork .. no schools allow weapons on campus, for rather obvious reasons. You can have your religion and play with your own deity anywhere else you like as long as it doesn't put others at risk at a state funded university.

yes but maybe they should I mean it wont stop some crazy bastard from showing up and shooting up the whole convention if they know that not a single person there even has a pocket knife so its putting more lives in danger if people cant bring weapons

lol. the internet is not part of the USA. the internet does not exist in a particular place. it's an imaginary realm. all i addressed was the thread title, though, of course XD.

No offense, but this just sounds like arrogance. How is it putting more lives in danger by not allowing it? The whole point of not allowing weapons/weapon like objects is to make it a safer place...

yep, you're totally gonna need to defend yourself at ffrcon. nothing wrong with a plastic weapon for cosplay.

Keep in mind your talking about an Anime convention where the majority of the people there arn't even old enough to carry guns/weapons in the first place.

why is it that places with concealed carry have the lowest crime rate then?

I find that very hard to believe...

If chuck norris went they'd have to send him away cuz he's always got a concealed in his pants.

LOL no, you don't, but some people do I guess...
I'm not even in to Anime, but I'm still going (hopefully) because I'm in love with FFR.

"Cosplay: Japanese term short for "costume play." The act of dressing up in costume as favorite characters from anime, video games, movies, music, etc." - http://www.supercosplayband.com/plc/plc_dictionary.php

You are not ACTUALLY becoming the character you are playing, you are simply dressing up in a costume. The no weapons rule is for the safety of the people at the event, and yourself. This doesn't mean that you have to go to the dollar store and pick up some crap, you can still make something that looks exactly like the real thing without using dangerous materials. Also take note that if your character uses guns, they must have an orange cap on the end.

I haven't ever been to any cosplay gatherings of any sorts such as Conventions, but my girlfriend went to Animethon in the summer and from what I saw in the pictures, unless you're going as Crusnic 02 from Trinity Blood, the costume is more important. So if it's no weapons real or fake, you'll do fine.

P.S. Don't go as Naruto

It's state law that weapons, concealed or otherwise, even with a proper permit are 100% banned in government-funded locations such as schools, libraries, governmental offices, etc. Furthermore, even public places have the ability to apply to have any weapons banned from the location and are given a sign to display the law - in Ohio you'll see a load of signs at store entrances prohibiting weapons.

You'll have to take it up with the state, not an anime organization. It was a huge issue in Ohio politics about concealed weapons and the voters passed it as a law roughly five years ago.

But I Want To Carry A Battle Axe! Where's My Mother ****ing Constitution At Work??!?!

nestlekwik
01-9-2008, 08:51 PM
The constitution allows you to own the battle axe in the case you are called to arms as part of a defense malitia should the country be invaded. It does not allow to own it so you can walk around the streets with it and do as you please. So by not allowing you to carry a battle axe in public, your constitution IS at work.

practice "the religion" in any federal building in the capital of your state and send us photos :)

Make sure its while you are explaining to them how they are violating your rights ;)
