I've tried a few programs while recording stepmania and lagged terribly. I am interested in a screen capture program as well.

Nice, I was gonna post this thread but found it.
And funny, I just tried Camtasia Studio 4.0.2 and my computer lagged so bad I couldn't FC Dance 2 This.
I have a 3.06 GHz processor and 4 GB of some of the fastest RAM money can buy, I can't fathom not being able to run something on this computer..... anything that will record without destroying me with lag?

Don't bother recording videos unless you're very top tier. So your 300 rank doesn't count for anything.
Trust me, give up the idea

You have been banned for the following reason:

Proud of it, eh?
And anyway, anybody have an alternative? Don't recommend FRAPS, it just flat out doesn't record FFR. Something that will reduce lag, or a better program altogether would be nice.

Use Camtasia Studio 4.
How do you post them on Youtube or whatever? Because whenever I post them it says I'm not using the right type of file or something.

Save them as an .avi, not a .camproj or whatever the default is.
You can upload those to Youtube. I usually alter my vids with WMM anyway and when you save it from there it automatically changes the file type, which you can then upload to Youtube.
