Embedded Player Special Release Song Thread

OK Guys... this thread will be the official place for discussion of special release songs and embedded player songs. This way we won't need to make a new thread for each and every band we want a player made for.


Guidelines:
-These files are all uber important. They'll get judged almost ASAP, outside of the batch, and get into the game ASAP

-They're important. REAL important. We give a 1 month subscription for each file that we put into the game. Or 10,000 credits, if you'd prefer. For every 10 songs you get into the game/embeds, we'll ship you a free t-shirt.

-Please create TWO files (at least, if not three) for each song that you submit. One easy/easier version and one that you feel is stepped perfectly to the song.

-Make sure to include the band's name in BIG CAPITAL LETTERS in the subject of the email to me. That way I'll know right away that this is a special submission, and won't ignore it until the next batch.

-IF YOU NEED HELP SYNCING A ROCK SONG... Send the file to Talisman for him to sync for you.

-Submit to either Tasselfoot@gmail.com or Mike.Pollack@flashflashrevolution.com , either works. Make sure to follow the guidelines for proper stepfile submission outlined in the queue thread and the FAQ thread.

Also, question: Is a little colored note syndrome in my file okay? I know Roses and Butterflies has some of that, but I just want to make sure. Of course, the steps follow the music.

If I used stops I would also have to use negative stops which I don't think FFR would like. I think BPM tricks might work better, it'll take awhile though. Sigh... okay, I'll do that if it's really necessary.

i don't understand why you'd have to use negative stops.

the point of the stop is to re-align you when your file goes to YNS or whatever. but the overall BPM would be the same, so you should just need the 1 stop and then it'd be perfect again.

The problem is that some of the drums don't fall directly on the beat, but most of them do. If I were to add a stop that one step might be on beat, but the others and every other step would be off.

Meh, it doesn't really matter, I fixed it already. It was actually easier then I thought.

Also, I still don't know what YNS means. So, er... yeah.

Talisman will now be doing some official syncing for Rock songs. If you're working on a rock song but want help with the sync, send Talisman the mp3 and he'll sync it and post the time changes here in this thread. I'll edit them into the main post.

About 1/3 of the rock songs update.... :

Bricks Basic - +, but we need an easier version still. this is a 5, we need a 2-3.
Bricks Heavy - over jumped... tone it down a bit. make it a 7 or so and it'll be good.
Deep In - +, although double check the sync, please? few notes here and there felt off.
Driveway [SPINFILE] - +, but we need a REALLY toned down version... like Driveway [Light] stepfile. maybe even easier.
Party Down - S - +.. need easier version... this is a 6, we need a 2-3. H - +, 9.
Sell Out - S - fix the jumps at the end... remember, this is 213bpm, massive 4-framers. H - 24th trill will have 3 framers, so change that. also, try and cut down on the 4-framers... this file will be an 11 for sure because of them; way too hard.
Make Up Smeared Eyes - +

ok... so after re-testing Xander's RBF songs... they're all cool files... they're just offsync. So, i'm having Talisman do sync work on all 3 RBF songs. you guys have a bit more time to finish them...

what i WOULD like ASAP is These Silhouette files... Have an easy London Bridges and a hard Don't Breathe A Word. Need an easy DBAW... at least 1, if not 2, Surrender Your Heart files... and possible a This Is For The Best file or 2.

ElectricWerewolf... looking at you first and foremost for those, although I know I sent mp3s out to more than just you.


More batch updates:
All 3 bricks files are sweet. Just need final permission from Rise Against on the embed.
Driveway... still need a really really easy Spinfile, but the current spinfile submission is good.
Need more Automatic Loveletter! The Answer and Unhearted. ASAP, please.

Psycho's Faces is quite repetitive.
EW's Faces H is better and not repetitive. EW's Faces S is also a solid very easy file.
Frozen - cut the mp3, please. make it a bit harder and use better patterns.
My Darkest Hour - H: patterns need work, sync around 500. O: just not fun. needs work on patterns and with what notes to go to... pretty much the same critique I've given to Ben on his LHH files.
The Rain - cut this, please. 8th stream for over 5 minutes straight is not fun. Find a way to make this more interesting and fit with the slow tone of the music better.

as well as the Daniel Strider widget and possibly 1 more song for the SKSK widget. I'd like to see 1 person dedicated to 1 widget. it'll be more efficient and easier for me to keep track of who is working on what.

i'd like to see at least 2 difficulties for each song, 3 max, 3 songs per widget. i don't have mp3s for all of these yet, and even when we do get the mp3s, i'd like talisman to try and bust out some sync work first for everyone to use.

but, post here and/or PM/IM me with a band you're interested in working on. i'd really like to see the likes or rebirth, jimerx, sulferdragon, electricwerewolf, and xandertrax at the minimum each dedicated to 1 widget.

At the place I work, this girl Saskia there, her boyfriend, Charlie, is in that band. Didn't think the band was all that big.

She was going to give me tickets to his show, him and like three other bands. But on the flyer, under each of the band's names, was their myspace address. This made me not go.

I don't regret not going.

Pretty much. I'm working on a few things some on FFR and some not, but that's getting away from things. If anyone wants to collab on something just send word, I'd be more than happy to do part of a chart or something.
