OK! I have seen so many theories and conspiracies, and not a whole lot of government propaganda.

I don't care! I'm using wikipedia! HAHA!

----------------------------------------------------
Government propaganda I.E Propaganda:"Propaganda is the deliberate, systematic attempt to shape perceptions, manipulate cognitions, and direct behavior to achieve a response that furthers the desired intent of the propagandist."

Propaganda [from modern Latin: 'Propaganda Fide', literally “propagating the faith”] is a concerted set of messages aimed at influencing the opinions or behavior of large numbers of people. Instead of impartially (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Objectivity_%28journalism%29) providing information, propaganda in its most basic sense presents information in order to influence its audience. The most effective propaganda is often completely truthful, but some propaganda presents facts selectively to encourage a particular synthesis, or gives loaded messages in order to produce an emotional rather than rational response to the information presented. The desired result is a change of the cognitive (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cognition) narrative of the subject in the target audience.

I just wanted to post this so I can get it through peoples heads that some of you are probably wrong. So the entire thing is largely an ad hominem attack in disguise...-5 points. You might try actually addressing people's stances in the threads they appear in, by providing counter evidence against their claims, instead of making a new thread to quote definitions and say "Ha, you''re stupid and wrong!"

Also, I wanted to see some theories and conspiracies of your own. Please post one or twelve. =D Posting random conspiracy theories isn't a discussion, it isn't centred around a main claim, it's just a mess of people posting random crap, really not something for CT

You can also post your examples of "Government Propaganda", just please do not flame other users Ideas. I just want this to be a safe thread for all =| Government propaganda has -nothing- to do with government conspiracy theories, and you didn't even say it was only about government related conspiracy theory, you're basically asking people to randomly post about two completely seperate subjects where your purpose seems to be 'to randomly list' rather than to organize any kind of constructive discourse.

Please follow these rules:
1. No flaming [ No flaming ideas!]Already a rule of Critical Thikning
2. Don't fool around, it's ct Already a rule of critical thinking
3. Don't get off topic You haven't provided a topic, just a vague basis for posting a list
4. Try to have backed up information about your theory/conspiracy Conspiracy theories lack information by defintion. If there was sound proof for the theory, it would be "history" not a conspiracy theory.
5. Try to have backed up information about your idea of government propaganda. The only back up informatino needed is that the image follow the definition you quoted in your first post, what more 'evidence' are you requiring?
Find an example of government propoganda and please get backed up information on how it is propaganda. Also, please post your backed up info. You largely didn't folow your own rule here, simply posting an image and saying "This is a picture of X" which we can already see by looking at the image.
6. Sources like dictionary [dot] com and wikipedia [dot] org may be used, but try watching the news some time o_oWhy only "may" be used? They appear to be exclusively the sources you used. If the OP can use only those sources, surely everyone else can?
