Ash's voice.

Now I'm sure many of you know the cartoon Pokeman, and the main character Ash. Over the years the Pokeman have changed, they've added characters to go along on Ash's quest, and they've made Team Rocket "blast off again". One thing that hadn't really changed though were the characters voices, until recently. As I watch Pokeman, on the occasions that I do, I notice that Ash has either matured or they've changed the person who does his voice. What's your oppinion on this?

Do you think the original Ash quit or he was a kid who has matured?

Yes, it's called a change of staff. Most American voice actors don't stick around for very long. Obviously they try to keep the same VAs but people have other obligations.

All long-winded shows like this eventually change their voice actors.

Yeah I've noticed too during lunch... I also agree of the "change of staff" thing... Even Brock's voice changed as well.

well i just kno of Veronica Taylor that did his voice...she's credited for most of the stuff

Ash's original voice is the best (because its the one im used to). I cant stand his voice in Advanced Battle, Battel Fronteir is okay.

For the longest time, Veronica Taylor (http://www.veronicataylor.net/) has been the VA of Ash since the very beginning. She's now replaced by another female VA (forgot the name) and she sounds a bit different. It's especially noticeable after having the same VA for 8 seasons.

Yes, I miss the old Ash's voice...I mean I guess the new one sounds like him, but like 6yrs older....I guess classic shows end up sucking in the end :\. I mean yeah I'm 17 and all, but I still enjoy the occasional watching of Pokè mon.

The first Season was the only one I've ever liked. The episodes just seemed more interesting and enjoyable.

Ashs voice and everything else about the newer seasons I just don't care for.

In Battle Frontier, I couldn't stand his voice. Just so annoying screaming out commands to his pokemon.

yea it's just one of those bothersome things...
and the ppl who created and do casting for the show kno that

i still try to watch pokemon as often as i can tho
i try to put the voices aside

it's just like on tv shows when they recast a character
like the mum in fresh prince

I agree, the voice is annoying these days, and the episodes are a little stupid. You can't over use a good thing like a voice for a character.

1st of all, it's Pokemon.

Second, since it stopped airing on Kids WB, they continued the series for Cartoon Network, but since it got to Battle Frontier and more, the voices of the characters had to change, and I have to admit, the voices do suck.

The last thing the original voice crew did was the movie "Lucario and the Mystery of Mew". Supposedly they did a good job on it since it was their last project with Pokemon.

The DVD also comes with a disc of some bonus movie, and that is done by the new voice actors. So you could say that is exactly where the break between teams is.

I actually liked that Lucario movie, but I really couldn't care less about the TV series. I enjoyed it like 6-8 years ago, but since then it's just gotten boring and repetitive.

Plus, I can't stand Ash.

They just changed James's voice in the new Diamond and Pearl series too. =/ It sounds so bad.
