Does Stepmania screw with your registry, change file types, have shared program files, or steal any information? Sorry for how ridiculus this sounds but I really need the info. My brother is a tightass that cares a little too much.

Stepmania:
Yes, it does add a registry entry and an entry in the Add/Remove Programs control panel.
No, it doesn't change associations.
I dunno about shared files.

I appreciate the honest answer. The ReadMe had almost no information, so I'm guessing your source was yourself. Let's see where I can get with this.
