Speed mods on FFR

For some reason I can't change the speed mods from x1 to x2. Can somebody help me out.

Crap this sucks becuase I need the speed mods so I can do harder songs..Oh well..

You could try screen shrinking. Or even try the Sudden mod instead. Those are other methods that are similar to speed mods.
