This is a thread about the annoying little children or less fortunate people without brains. (DDR related)

For instance. Have you ever been to the Arcade playing DDR and some little kid runs across right in front or in back of you across the pad mid game? Sometimes their lucky and don't get a foot to the shin or an elbow or hand to the face. Not on purpose of course, but some times they are not so lucky and get injured. Like a bloody nose from running into me or they trip trying to get across the pad and bust their faces or I kick them or one time I was picking a song and as I backed up for the song to begin I sent a kid into the handi bar in back of me. All I felt was a slight push then a loud ping and some crying. And of course its your fault for their childs injury :roll:. Or how about those people that stomp their feet on the back arrow while your playing and then when their foot gets crushed while you were hoping around they blame it on you and tell you to watch it. Or how about those people who stand at the sie of you and if they don't have a good look at whats going on on the screen they put their face on it and then when tell them to please move they call you rude.

Has this ever happened to any of you? If not you got lucky.

Last night I was playing DDR at one of the greatest arcades in the world (Nickel City, fool) and these kids kept running in front of me while I was playing, and in back of me when I was choosing songs. Everytime they did that, I yelled, "I hate little kids!!!" All the other DDR players laughed, and nobody else, not even the kids, seemed to care, because they did it over and over and over again.

There was this other little kid who kept bugging me to play with him. Then he tried to get a credit out of me at Dance Maniax, but his mentor told me I didn't have to do that. Then he decided he would pull a song out of me instead. When I told him it was too hard, somehow he managed to convince me he could do one of the sensors. I never failed that song until then. Jeez, anything kids 10 or younger do tends to make Bemani unenjoyable.

Heck yeah I live near Chicago, on the South Side. 40 mile drive up to Northbrook, but it's worth it :wink:

Yeah, I live about 280 miles from there.

I've went twice on our quint-annual trips to Chicago. Both times were Bar or Bat-Mitzvah parties. I blew all my money. :wink:

Which part are you refering to, that I've never played DDR before or would hate those kids? Ok maybe I wouldn't want to kill them but I'd definatly be mad. I said something about killing in that post of mine that got deleted in the introductions too btw CMC.

Just for the record, I live near chicago. West burbs. I live in Naperville about 2 blocks away from the Brunswick Zone.

Where they just got a DDR Extreme machine the other month.

I've only played ddr maybe (7 times all in the past two days). At least 3 times, someone had their foot or something on the pad that I've stepped on. Idiots.

Well, until yesterday I had only heard about DDR. I had never seen a DDR machine or played on for that matter. Yesterday I went to a mall about 25-30 minutes away, and there was a DDR Extreme machine in the arcade. Although I didn't play it (I was afraid of tripping over myself and looking like an idiot in front of the 10s of people waiting to play/watching, so my friends and I just watched. I plan on going back on Thursday though to play.

As far as little kids running on the pad, I didn't see that happen last night. Of course it was a Saturday Night so the Arcade was pretty packed. Everyone was standing around the Machine watching, so there really wasn't much room to run through anyway. I suggest getting a few friends together to block the path of little kids. That probably won't solve the occurances of little kids running through your songs, but I will probably help, and diminish the injuries.

having lil kids run through the machine and messing me up hasn't happened yet. but I will say this which annoyed me all day. I was on my way to waste another 5 dollars on the game at the arcade near me. I enter to where it is....and I don't see it anywhere. I ask one of the guys there what happened to it. he said that they swapped the game for another game(which looks like beachhead 2000 for some reason.) after he leaves I slam my fist into the soul calibur 2 machine(almost breaking my knuckles because of that.). *sigh* now I have to go to another mall that has it that's another hour away from me. :cry: :cry:
damn and I was prepared to play double mode finally.

Btw ppl, you know how I said I didn't know where any DDR machines are? Well just today I was talking with one of my friends, and he told me where there are some. Stupid me, it was the most obvious place for them to be too. In a big arcade place with tons of arcade style games. Only reason I didn't realize this was because I haven't been there for years.

From what I've read, you should invest in a hard pad. It's a little expensive, but the only thing the soft pad is basically good is learning to play DDR. If you really have the money, go for a metal pad. it's much more realistic.

I'm also saving up, and I plan on getting the hard pad for now. :-P It's gonna be a while though.

The thing I hear about the hard pads is that they crack so damn easy if you aren't careful. I would have a metal pad if I were willing to spend my money on it. XD

One time I was playing DDR.

Love^2 Sugar/Heavy and some girl decides to jump on the pad next to me and start making fun of me... bah.
She wasn't a little kid or anything, but quite agrivating! >.<
