My highest score on one minute waltz is 80 goods and 200 boos even though I can get 15 goods 7 boos and 3 misses.

For about 2 years I've almost accomplished AAAing everything up to VC*, but there was always one song that prevented me from reaching this goal: For FFR. Mirror or not, I could never seem to get the ending. Tips?

the one run that I actually managed to snag it, I only paid attention to my right hand realizing that it needed to be hitting a 12th trill, and then made sure my left hand was hitting a note in between every right handed note (that was worded so incredibly terribly but I don't care)...the rolls are easier so I'm assuming and hoping you only have trouble with that first section

Thanks for this tip! I just tried it and it makes the pattern a lot easier. I just need to find a keyboard with good arrow keys now. The left and down keys on my keyboard don't always register. x.x

Just try experimenting with jump trilling more Izzy. Force yourself to do jumps sometimes to test the timing window and how much you can get away with. Necropotence comes to mind immediately because those rolls can easily be jump trilled.

I try doing that over and over and I get tons of goods and averages. Stepmania has really conditioned me otherwise. They should just step the song as a jump trill and call it a day =)

Not knowing how to jumptrill really helps for stuff like eclipse solar though. It forces me to read the 32nd notes because that is all I know how to do anyway.

Izzy, is this because of stamina issues? If it isn't, here is how I full comboed RATO:
- Do a left-down / up-right jump alternation pattern regardless of the actual notes on the screen (unless 100% readable) I'd estimate that I hit about 8 or so doubles per second, unless the notes went into their occasional 48th / 64th note insane stream, in which I just either increased the speed, or quadheld.

I wouldn't worry about booing out in any section like that, and just mash as fast as possible if you are worried about getting a CB in those areas. I'd say one of the most annoying parts is that jack on the down arrow right at the beginning, which can usually be comboed just by spamming the hell out of the left side of the keyboard.

I really don't think I have a stamina issue seeing as how I played it about 70 times in a row mashing as fast as I possibly could without waiting in between plays.

I am already mashing jump trills at 32nd note speed for the majority of it and I go even faster when I see the light blue notes. It just always gives me a miss somewhere.

I just watched one of your recent replays...looks like you tried to keep all the notes at bay in the good / average range and then in the 1000's the notes just gained up on you randomly and made you miss. Possibly instead of a set of notes being averages, they became boos and were able to gain on you. You definatey look like you can FC RATO if crap like that doesn't get in your way...maybe take a break from it and play a few FMO / FGO songs, then go back to RATO you'll get the FC after a few tries.

Well, it all depends on what you were doing on SM for the 10 months FFR was down. Like...I was basically excluding myself to files from the HSMP, the Rebound Vibrajacking packs, and a few other packs and songs that were fun and difficult.

Glad to hear you have improved though!

The thing that sucks about me right now is that in order for me to play good on FFR, I usually have to play SM for a while...and then go to FFR. I really can't just play songs until I'm warmed up really, unless I go to SM first ugh.

Slight Improvement. But yeah. Polka is easy because the jacks are spread out. Counterstrike has that line of jacks that range from 4 3 2 1 2 so on. That's where I venture most my goods are. XP just has that disgusting 32nd stream right at the end. Most of my goods are there.

Regarding P4U:

If you have a laptop, tilt the screen back until the colors are distorted. If it's a desktop, try turning the monitor. If you can get the colors to change by viewing it from a different angle it helps.

P4U is all about anticipating the patterns you can't easily see. I believe I attempted to turn off the sound when I AAAed the song. Also, there are a few really dumb patterns, so you have to learn each of those as well.
