Heh, I used to be obsessed with the movie. I used to be stupid. I just watched it because it got me hyped up. Usually before sporting events. That movie or Mortal Kombat. I haven't watched either in a long time. I've probably seen Bloodsport over 30 times. I'm afraid to watch it again because of what I'll think of myself. Mortal Kombat will always be decent.

This movie is awesome and full of ass-kickery. Great story? No. Great acting? Hell no. Awesome movie? Hell yes.

It's even been bumped up to cult classic level with how much they play it on Saturdays on TBS or something.

Jean-Claude Van Damme kicks a lot of ass in this movie and it's the greatest of his movies in terms of ass-kickery (yes, it is a parameter when considering Van Damme movies).

Saying this movie isn't awesome is like saying Steven Seagal movies aren't awesome, just on a different level.

I accidentially bought Bloodsport 2 on ebay when I thought I was bidding on Bloodsport. I own Bloodsport 2, and have watched it.... once.

Bloodsport is definately a classic, and definately Van Damme's best movie. Although the plot happens to be fairly similar in alot of his movies... Tournament of the best fighters, he's good but an underdog to the cheapfighting favorite, yet overcomes and wins.

If you like fighting movies, and want to have an amazingly good laugh... watch Bloodsport 2. EXACT same plot, worse acting, worse fighting.
