Hope there wasn't a topic made for this, I barely ever come into media, but anyway...

Excellent movie, IMO. It's about this assasin who meets a girl in the airport, and on the plane ride he threatens that her father will be killed unless she does what he says. Gets pretty tense and suspenful at the end.

I really liked this movie and I recommend you go see it :) I'd give it a 9/10 cause I have seen better movies, but it was still really good.

The TV spots make it clear to keep the plot vague enough to keep you interested.

That's what got me to see the movie.

It's been a very long day for Lisa Reisart (Rachel MacAdams)... Her grandmother just passed away, the Hotel that she manages is having trouble, and when she arrives at the airport, secure in the thought that even though she was running late she'll still be able to make her flight, until... The final straw. Her plane is delayed. While standing in line to get her baggage checked, a young man helps her away from a possibly volitile encounter and offers to buy her a drink. It's been a long day, so she begrudginly accepts.

He introduces himself as Jackson Rippner (Cillian Murphy), and that he hasn't gone by the name of Jack since the age of eight... Jack the... Oh.

They part ways after sharing a drink, and Rachel boards her flight, only to find herself seated next to Jackson. A happy coincidence, or so she thinks...

They begin small chit chat, before he reveals his job... "High profile assasinations... But I don't pull the trigger. I'm a lousy shot. And today, my business... Is all about you."

And thus, with the plane rising through the skies, so does the fear.

This is an excellentley crafted thriller directed by ex-Master of horror Wes Craven. Cramped and claustrophobic, it's hard to forsee where exactly the movie will go, but each new turn is a welcome one in the hostage situation category...

I mean, after you've exercised the regular options (Call button in particular), how exactly do you think you would get out of giving in to his commands? The camera angles set up the suspense especially well in the final scenes, remescent of another Craven classic, Scream.

Murphy and MacAdams are strong throughout the movie, althout it would have been nice to see some more strength from MacAdams. Murphy was the high point in the movie, creating an omniscient and ever dangerous threat in the tiny cabin of the air plane. He waltzes through the movie, going through the motions of his villanous job treating it just like that: Another job. One can't help but compare his line of work with Lisa's: Public relations and a managerial position.

At the end, a twist would have been welcomed, but the resolution is such a relief after the high tension final moments, that the oversite is forgiven.

All in all, this film is excellent, and comes highly reccomended.

The best part of this movie was Cillian Murphy, who definitely deserves more credit than he's given. Personally, I don't like Wes Craven's films at all. I've seen New Nightmare, They and Chiller, and none of them managed to scare me in the slightest. This film is no exception. The movie was predictable, the suspense scenes cheesy and recycled, and the whole movie just carries an aura of implausibility. Decent acting, but that's about all this movie has going for it.

Whorli and I saw this last night... i liked it. Jewp, it wasn't meant to be a "Scary" movie. It was meant to be suspenceful. I agree with Mal that it did a good job of that, but my biggest dislike in the movie was more the fact that it was a mere 80 minutes long. Then again... a flight from Dallas to Miami is what, 2? hours long. 2.5 tops. Plus, how many different ways to get help can she try while on the plane. And the stalking scene at the end was drawn out as long as it could be too.

Frankly, the concept is good. It just happens to be a concept that can't be drawn out for 2 hours. If it wasn't so high profile, it would have been perfect for a made-for-TV flick.

Murphy is a new-age Christopher Walken, but where Walken is creepy-hot, Murphy is creepy-cute and has a charming quality that Walken could never have. (note: these terms by Whorli, not I). I look forward to seeing Murphy in more villian roles, as he's done a good job in both Batman Begins and in Red Eye.

Cillian Murphy MADE this movie. Tass and I were comparing him to Christopher Walken after the movie--because they're both attractive in a strangely creepy way, can be very very charming or OMGWTFPOLARBEAR scary. And because I love both of them. He was really good in Batman Begins too.

The headbutts were good. I really wish Lisa had shown slightly more intelligence, especially near the end...but all in all I really enjoyed it.

The previews before the movie sucked big fat booty. Why are there no GOOD movies coming out?
