New Forum things

I think all of you know how when there is a new post in a forum then the thing on the left turns orange and a orange file appears next to it right? And when it's been there for a while it dissapears. But recently it hasn't been doing that. The forums will stay new until I look at them, which it doesn't usually do. Is this my computer or a bug in the site? Is there any way to fix it?

On the main forum page just hit "Mark all forums read".

Its at the top right above the last user listing.

Look for it, you'll find it.

Ok I did that but now they wont turn orange even if they were just posted.
