hey how did you think this idea up? inspiration by ddr, by a dream, or maybe while sitting on the john =P ? you are a genius!

Actually, BPRC (who has been busy lately) and myself developed the game.
I know this sounds really lame but I really wanted to share the DDR fun with people who didn't have arcades near them or the money to buy DDR. Secondly I wanted to provide an environment in which people could have fun by competing against eachother for Hi-Scores. At the time I had not heard of DWI or Stepmania.
I just remember being so excited the first time we got the engine running properly with a makeshift level. From there it consumed a month of my life until we finally put it online with the first 4 songs. Now keep in mind that I have a business that I run, a family, and quite a few other sites that I maintain. A month of working on this game 2-8 hours per day is quite the dedication.
In the last year I have been introduced to DDR and it has brought so much fun into my busy life. I can flip on the playstation anytime of the night while I am working and take 2 minutes to play a quick song. There are not many games these days that take 2 minutes to play. DDR has such an addictive quality about it. It is quick and challenging. DDR doesn't take 30 minutes to work your way to save point.
Quick challenges and Big rewards.
I have some evil thoughts floating around in my head about eventually using flash to compete against other players online in a versus mode. (imagine that). You log onto the site and launch a flash app that is like a general room waiting for players and then join a game for any level. I am not saying that we will accomplish this and I am not saying it is something for the near future but I will say that the thought is growing increasingly itchy in my brain. The only drawback would be CPU power to draw all the graphics within the flash engine.
So don't forget to give big props to BPRC for all of his hard effort from down under. He is a great guy and a big part of all this, even if we haven't seen him post yet. *elbow*

to synth
-How old are you
-Are you any good at DDR
-who showed you DDR
-I love you for think of the idea to have the game ONLINE i disucss dwi and stepmania online with people ALLL THE TIME! but it never seems to go across anyone. you are finally someone that understands how cool it would be. But man. lets face it flash is a bunch of fgtness, your not gonna get it online with flash and its never going to be as good as ddr or stepmania with flash, i hate to say it but its true.

I suppose it is a huge project to include multiplayer. But it would be pretty cool - well no pressure right? :D

To hyrogashi,
I am 28
I am not as good as many people are at DDR. But that is a matter of opinion.
Chieze (archie) who was an intern at my company last year showed me DDR.
Glad you like the versus online idea. Please try to tone down the insults i.e. "fgtness"
Don't be so negative, anything is possible. I have used flash apps before that allow multiple live video feeds, audio and text chat all at the same time without a problem (communication server).
Because of the quick and dirty tries most have attempted with Flash, people didn't think what we had done would be possible in Flash and I think we are only about 1/8th as efficient as we could be with our code.
Believe in belief.

i cant help being negative when ive seen stretched out limits of flash that cannot be much better. FFR online chat multiple and all that is REALLY pushing it. I cant stop saying things like "fgtness" bear with me..

Hey guys!! :D
I thought I'd pop in and say hi.
HI!
I'm sure most of you though Synth was making me up. Going crazy and all. Talking about someone that didn't exsist. In this case he's not...
Lately I've been really busy. It will soon die down and I'll be able to help Synth again with all his crazy ideas for FFR. Thanks for the kind works also Synth ;)
Even though this is my first post, I have been here quite often. It's been really good to hear all of your comments and suggestions. I'm also amazed at how quickly FFR is spreading through the WWW. Not doubt, I'm sure this has a lot to do with you guys here. Thanks.
My DDR history? FFR. That's it so far. Since Synth started rambling on about his DDR game, I've been trying to find a copy for myself. Unfortunately I've had no success. Still looking though. I've seen DDR in a few different arcades but have never had the balls to give it a try. Especially when I see some of the 'experts' give it a whirl!
Anyway... this is just a quick message to say thanks to you all for your support and testing/playing of FFR. It is VERY much appreciated.
Cheers...

Hello bprc,
If you plan on buying DDR don't get any USA mixes(unless it is USAMAX). Trust me. It may seem all fine and dandy when you first start, but as time goes on, and you gain skills, you will quickly get bored of the USA mixes(unless it is USAMAX).
Keep up the good work, both of you.

Hey jewpinthethird.
Thanks for your advice ;)
I'm over in Australia, so I don't think the USA mixes are an option. Maybe that's a good thing from what you've said.
There's a new DDR version coming out, so I've heard. DDR Remix 4 or something...?
Do you think this would be a good one?
Cheers...

It always amazes me how the aussies get retail products in a way that lags behind other countries.

Both MAX 2 for PS2 and and Extreme for arcade will be released really soon in Japan, both had a December release if I'm not mistaken. The only PS2 releases available at this time are DDR MAX (JPN) and DDR MAX (USA).

Solo Bass = yes
Solo 2K = no
Solo 2K was an awesome machine. Many of the best songs from 5th Mix were converted over from Solo 2K. Plus Solo 2K did feature some 2nd Mix songs remixed into even better songs such as Get Up 'N Move and Brilliant 2 U. The Brilliant 2 U mix off of Solo is my favorite B2U mix. That and the 6-panel mode is a lot of fun. The nonstop courses are great too, cause they are actual nonstop mixes-no breaks like in 3rd or 4th; the music and steps are continuous. However, I won't argue that the announcer from Solo sucks :?

brpc go to ddrfreak.com and check out where the machine locations are. There are quite a few.

Well, if you played a Solo machine, you have one of three choices:
Solo Bass Mix
Solo 2K
Solo 4thMix +
The 4thMix + is a rare find, especially around where I live; Solo 2K is probably the easiest to find; and Solo Bass is hard to find, but it kinda sucks.
4thMix+ has, well, 4thMix songs on it.
Solo Bass has heavy bass songs on it and only features a handful of songs, about 90% of those songs from previous mixes of DDR.
Solo 2K has much more songs on it than Bass and features brand new DDR songs such as I'm Alive, I Don't Want To Miss A Thing, Temple of Love, Samba de Janerio and many other songs not featured on any other machine.
