It depends on your religion and opinion.
Don't let me tell you the answer, let me suggest the answer: No.

No, don't think I'm mad at you for your question, I just think you should've chosen less...blunt words. It seemed that you left out any factor that people other than Christians, Islamics, and Jews are in these forums.

No because heaven is where good-natured people go, and therefore it changes to suit the needs of the individual spirit to make them occupied.

Heaven is traditionally looked at a place of paradise. trillobyite is right, most of the time because of how religion has changed society and the way we think, it's often thought of as a place where "good-natured" people go.
To answer your question, if you were to become bored in heaven, it's impossible to answer if you would be bored for eternity.
Scientifically there is no proof or evidence that such a place exists, and if it does nobody has the ability to tell anyone what it is like.
Religiously boredom is probably going to the last thing on your mind.
Sorry for the rant everyone.

When you're lying here in my arms
I'm finding it hard to believe
We're in Heaven."
Clearly Heaven can only exist on earth.
sorry, I'll be relevent.
By definition, if you became bored of heaven, it would mean you did not appreciate God's gift or some crap, and they would then proceed to send you down to hell for that. Hey, at least it's a change.

People don't realize what they are getting themselves into when they start messing with this "eternity" stuff.
I'd much rather be incarnated than go to heaven or whatever.
Mortality is like the best thing ever.

Sure the bible speaks bad of sinners, but you'll still get into heaven, As long as you show some remorse for your actions. Either before during or after.

THERE IS NO HEAVEN.

Since this thread is directed towards people of christian faith, your answer doesn not even comply.
Since they take it as a given that Heaven exists, we are trying to make discussion on that.
ie: don't spam your athiesm, Tass loses.

Theoretically, I could be spamming my Judiasm too...
And, I didn't see anywhere that it was a given that heaven existed. I'd say prove it, but that would only spark more arguing.

I recall back when I was actually a Catholic and had similar thoughts about heaven and the possibility of being bored very quickly. I mean, there's only so many things you can do in "paradise". And it's not like they'll port the latest games to fit the format of the place...then make them ethereal...yeah. I mean, too much of a good thing is bad for you. "Life" would get boring fast if there was nothing to do but live life carelessly. Sad to say that though, since that's my goal in life.

Erm... Yes, well, I believe heaven is a place of spiritual peace. Boredom is usually unpleasant, therefor must not exist in heaven. Although, in very SPECIAL cases, someone who is sent to heaven might enjoy boredom(?), so I think there'd be an exception for him/her.

you dont just go to heaven to sit on your ass all day. there is actually a LOT of things to do. people think..."yeah dude we are going to go get fed grapes and fly around all day, and maybe chill with god." no, just like here on earth, there are responsiblities to be taken care of.

Since sex is the greatest pleasure, but is immoral, can one have sex in heaven? If not, it's not really much to look forward to is it.

Well, here's an interesting thought I just had...
Ugliness is bad, right? Therefore, there would be no ugliness in heaven. Since the soul does not necessarily reflect the body, everyone's form there would be beautiful (only good souls (or devout Christians, if you like) go to Heaven).
And who says that a wife can't change the "ethereal form" whenever she wants? Or who says there are even forms there? Sex would then probably consist of pure ecstacy for both partners, with no thoughts of mortal beauty (or the lack thereof), because, after all, it's Heaven. Your wife could look like anybody she wants.
Of course, if you want to have sex with another woman just to be with another woman, that's adultery, and I wouldn't know why anybody would want to do that if sex was perfect every time. Especially if sex changed and still remained perfect (i.e. your wife takes on different beautiful forms).
Note that this is just me guessing what it would be like in a "perfect" place, and is not based off any religious stuff.

March 8th, 2005, 08:19 PM
Wow this a very delicate and interesting topic. It all depends on your religion really, some religions think you are reincarnated some think you got to heaven. I think everyone must stay aware of the different religions around the world before posting just anything. now to the topic. Yes, i think you do go to heaven if you are good and accept jesus as your savior but if you dont accept jesus as your savior you have to answer for your sins at the "pearly gates".
sex is a very touchy topic too because if it is perfet every time would it be fun anymore? would it be the same everytime? or would there actually be sex in heaven, unless your married like pshychic said it would be adultury and adultury is a sin. and there rises another question, what happens if you sin in heaven? do they just warn you ar send you to hell. this is why its such a delicate topic, because you have so many different religions to think about.

Well if you got bored in heaven well then you can come back down to earth and haunt people ;)
j/k
oh yeah and whoever said "there is no proof that such place exists" talking about heaven, there is no need for proof, its based on faith not and sort of logic, math whatever i don't want to start a argument about it but someone can draw circles around you with logic and you beleive in god or whatever. Like i said its based on faith not science, and if someone changes your opinion about god then it wasn't that strong to begin with
anyways back to the topic
if you get bored in heaven its supposed to be a great place, because, i can't answer that cause i haven't read the bible. But my mother tells me alot about it and yes i beleive, you may think i'm just some ignorant simple minded person but i'm not. If i really am then i don't care. EEK! getting off topic again sorry just had to say that.
I'm not sure what heaven is like, if god is as powerful as he is and has as much as power as he does well then i'm pretty sure he can change emotions so that will be NP if you get bored ;).

As been said many many times in this topic, heaven is supposed to be paradise. Different people have different views of what paradise would be for them. I assume that you'd constantly still be changing opinions and intrests in heaven, because you're still mortal, but you're dead. As you're changing, your view of paradise might change also, and a new paradise appears for you. Constantly changing forever, I assume you cannot get bored. Unless your paradise is boredom.

March 10th, 2005, 01:03 AM
What if your paradise is to be in hell? What if your hell is to be in constant paradise? Perhaps you did not accept god as your savior, yet feel that hell is the ultimate paradise. I see a paradox forming between the two states of pure pleasure, and pure pain.
falconsfan14
March 10th, 2005, 06:20 AM
well, maybe if you go to hell its more like a jail. maybe when you go to hell you just stay for however long god thinks you need to stay to pay for your sins. but its all a matter of faith, sleep. if hell is a paradise for you then thats your heaven, theres now another question. is there a hell then? because whatever your paradise is, is your heaven. there are so many different ways to look at this topic.

Sigh... Let me explain it so that further conflict will be eliminated. As you said, having sex with someone other than your spouse is adultery, and premarital sex is immoral. Both would be excluded in heaven. Having sex in heaven would be simple: If you die and have a wife, you'll do her. You won't ever get bored of it because heaven automatically makes it the best you've ever had, every time. And if you die without your wife, you'll have to wait for her. Tough luck. And if your wife gets re-married, that's in my opinion, just as immoral as adultery. If you think about it, it IS the same thing. So, she'll probably go to hell. As for single deaths: You get to bang who ever you were in love with. If you weren't in love, your deepest desires in a woman would be brought into an entity for you.
Ok, first off, I want to say that everything I said is a theory. I've never been to heaven, thus have no idea how things work, only ideas that would seem logical based on information I had at hand. I do, however, PLAN on going to heaven and when I get there, I'll write a book. But like I said, all of our explanations are useless theories, and this post is a piece of junk for asking living people what heaven is like.

well as i like to think everyone is right i really do think your wroung. as u should be aware of people shouldn't think of other people impurely as this would be a sin and for all you people that don't know what this means it means thinking of a man or women in a sexual way. tho heaven is a sacred ground doesn't mean you would have a hard time getting into it. tho i am christian i also do think that heaven may not exist and that we make it up to except death so that we won't have remorse in the afterlife. these are many posible answers to why we belive in heaven but there is only one real answer and we won't no that untill we are on the verge of death or are dead.
