I'm also a huge otaku. I was thinking about how cool a Stargate SG-1 anime would be. Jack, Daniel, Sam and T'ealc with big eyes and poofy hair. And of course the random anime freakouts (TM).

Maybe I'm the only one who thinks that would be cool. ^^;;

Actually I was thinking more along the lines of the actual established characters (i.e. Jack, Sam, Daniel, Teal'c) as anime characters and not random "super hyper kawaii chicks". I was also imagining the overall tone of the show to be akin to that of Twelve Kingdoms or even Cowboy Bebop, not Sailor Moon.

How about you watch Azumanga Daioh, and just pretend they are in a different dimension every skit?

I actually own most of the Azumanga series and the manga. I have read it. I have watched it. It's not exactly the same thing.

It's not even really that close.
